{ Impression Obsession Design Team Challenge #2 }

This month's challenge was to use stamps only, no patterned paper, and embellishments were allowed. I used my Butterfly Bliss clear stamp set, and the sentiment is from Mini Messages clear stamp set. I stamped the butterflies on white cardstock and then cut them out. I know, it's hard to tell. I took this photo tonight, sorry. If I get a chance tomorrow, I will take a better photo. The little sentiment is actually a "square" sentiment, the words are on top of each other. That didn't really work for this card so I inked each word separately and stamped the sentiment so that it fits on one line. The little jewels are Darice and I get them at Michaels dollar bin. Each little butterfly has one. Prima flower and Offray ribbon.Check out what the other DT members created:

{ First Day Peek-a-boo album }

I finally finished one of the Peek-a-boo albums from Tinkering Ink. So much fun. I painted the chipboard pages and used rub-ons, paint, paper and stamps on the acrylic pages. All the papers are from the Provincial Fare collection, including stickers and rub-ons, and all the white transfers are here. There were so many pages that I thought the slide might be the best to view it. It is on slow mode, let me know if that is too slow and I can increase the speed. You can click on View Ill Images and it will take you there.The stamps I used are Autumn Leaves and the little bird is Impression Obsession. The number rub-ons are American Crafts and Basic Grey.Let me know if you have any questions. I hope you like it. If you want to win some Impression Obsession stamps check out Penny's blog.

{ Melissa's blog challenge, CPS # 60 and Bluebonnets }

Melissa has a challenge on her blog and she is giving away some of her own creations. I just had to play. Her challenge: 1. Create a card using a brown paper bag as part of your card, (base, flowers, paper, etc.), 2. Card must have buttons, 3. Card must have a bit of stamping . The paper is from Making Memories that I didn't care for at first and now I love. It's from their Funky Vintage collection. My stamps are from Impression-Obsession, flourish that I used to stamp my bag background is from Butterfly Bliss clear stamp set, sentiment from Circle Greetings the little bird. This second card is for CPS #60. It was last week and I had the card made, I just never took a photo of it. The patterned paper is American Crafts, rick rack is from Target dollar bin, the little flower brad is Imaginisce and I got a set of them in our flower swap at Create My Keepsake. I stamped the brackets and cut them out, the stamps are Art Warehouse.
On Saturday we went to Ennis, TX, for their annual Bluebonnet festival. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. Alex was such a good boy and we got some awesome photos. He is 3 months old!

{ Al Fresco }

al fresco - Collaborative International Dictionary of English v.0.48 : Fresco \Fres"co\, n.; pl. Frescoes or Frescos. [It., fr. fresco fresh; of German origin. See Fresh, a.] 1. A cool, refreshing state of the air; duskiness; coolness; shade. [R.] --Prior. [1913 Webster] al fresco in the open air; out of doors; outdoors; as, to dine al fresco. [PJC]
Well, I had to look it up in the dictionary.

I just love this Al Fresco collection by Tinkering Ink. The colors are so vibrant and fresh. The last card is made with Provincial Fare collection, which I love just as much.

Have you seen these new Peek-a-boo Albums???? I am working on one, slowly, but I will get it done. If you would like to see some examples check out this Peek-A-boo Album by Tessa Ann Watte, Peek-A-Boo Album by Summer Ford, and Peek-A-Boo Album by Pam Callaghan.

Have a great weekend. We are taking some pictures in the Bluebonnets tomorrow, I hope.

{ Black, red, green and cream....}

A little challenge on Melissa's blog. She has one every Wednesday. Her challenge is to use black, red, green and cream, make your own flowers and include a trim. This is my card. I just love all those colors together. I made my flowers from paper and buttons. That beautiful red paper is Tinkering Ink Thistle Hill collection. Black journal page is Making Memories, trim is Maya Road. The little green "things" I cut out of Making Memories patterned paper, Funky Vintage collection. I found it last night in a box, it arrived some time ago with some other Making Memories goodies that I won. "Friends" rub-on is Melissa Frances. Oh, and there is a little butterfly that I cut out of paper and for his body I used a heart eyelet.
I really need to share some new photos of Alex. I know, I am way behind. I thought I would have more time now that my husband is home, but that is not the case.
Good night.

{ Card challenge(s) }

I was making this card for Triple The Sketch blog and then I ended up completing several challenges.
Danielle's challenge is to create a card with: polka dots, chipboard, paint and a butterfly. The chipboard is Creative Imaginations that I painted. I stamped my background with polka dots, the stamp is from one of Stampin' Up sets. The butterfly and tag are from SEI Jolie Chocolat collection, full of butterflies and glitter. I added glitter to some of the flowers using Around The Block flocking and glitter set. It came in one of my goodie boxes from Cards.
Danni has a challenge on her blog to use eyelets so I added little flower eyelets to the scalloped edge. I had these forever.
Melissa Phillips has a challenge on her blog to make a card using chipboard shape, stamp and decorative scissors.
Wow, how is that, one card, four challenges.
If you didn't see my other note, I will be drawing winners tomorrow, Thursday.

{ Weekend Sketch Challenge #42 }

I wanted to post this card while it was still the weekend. I am always too late. Beate's weekend sketch challenge #42. I used the new Branches of a Tree clear stamp set from Impression Obsession. I just loved stamping all the little leaves and flowers. The little butterflies are from Butterfly Bliss clear stamp set and the sentiment is from Mini Messages set. The paper is SEI Jolie Chocolat collection. I don't have that notebook punch that everyone has and I love the look. This idea came from my friend Danni, who is very creative. I used a round hole punch and 1/4" rectangle punch to achieve the same look.
Don't forget the crochet flowers that I am giving away in this post. I have no idea how to make them, I am still learning. My mom was trying to teach me, but I just couldn't figure it out and Alex was requiring my constant attention.

{ Crochet flowers giveaway and CPS # 58 }

***ETA: I will draw winners tomorrow, Thursday, April 10.
Remember when I told you that my mom was here and she made me ALL these flowers. We went to Hobby Lobby and got some crochet yarn, some crochet needles and a book, for me. I wanted to learn how to crochet. I should have started with something simple and not flowers. It took her less than 20 minutes to make one. Well, we didn't think of it until the end of her trip, could you imagine how many flowers she would have made? She was here for two months.
Anyway, I want to give some away. Leave a comment here and I will randomly pick a winner or two.
Here is my card for CPS #58. I used NEW Cherry Blossom Branch and Floral Birdcage. You can't tell from the photo, but I stamped the birdcage on separate sheet of paper and cut it out. I adhered it with foam adhesive. I colored the images with pearlescent chalk and my blender pen. I forgot I had them. The papers are Making Memories Chelsea Place that I found at Michaels last week.
Have a great weekend. My husband comes home tonight!

{ New signature }

I noticed how everyone has their names at the end of each post. After some research I found out that you can add a signature to your post. Go to My Live Signature and create your signature. Go visit Allison, she has a great tutorial on how to add it to your posts. If you have any questions let me know. My signature had a black background when I saved it to my desktop and then uploaded to Photobucket. To fix that problem I chose to download signature option. When the new screen opens I copied the URL they provided and pasted it I was going to post some cards, but I am just too tired. I will do it tomorrow.
