{ My Garden Journal }

I said I was going to share all the pages from My Garden Journal, so here they are. This was so much fun to make.
For the front page I used this wonderful 3x3 Chic Calendar Tag. My crinkled ribbon, Prima flowers and The Paper Studio brad.
I used an envelope template from The Cutting Cafe' Sweet Stuff collection. I printed each envelope on white cardstock and cut it out. After folding and adhering I cut about 1 1/2" off to fit my journal size. I used Bind-it-all to bind the journal together. I lined the flap of each envelope with patterned paper.

Each envelope is a perfect size for my seed packets.

This page I covered with Bo Bunny patterned paper and Lollipop Journaling Tag. I added my hand dyed crinkled ribbon and a button. All tags are stamped with my little alpha stamps from Michaels.

October Afternoon paper and Granny's Doily Journaling Tag, crinkled ribbon, Bo Bunny paper clip. I planted basil, parsley, cilantro, chives, Sunflowers and Cornflower. They all came in little packets. There is plenty of room for journaling.

 Granny's Doilies Journaling Tag, Bo Bunny paper, Prima flower and The Paper Studio brad.

Granny's Doily Journaling Tag, Bo Bunny paper, crinkled ribbon, Making Memories pins.

The Country Fair Journaling Tag, Bo Bunny patterned paper, Prima flower, Making Memories clip.

I added additional Chic Journaling Tags to the back of each envelope and clipped extras to the back page for notes that I can add to each pocket if needed. I haven't decided if I will add photos, but I could. I have been taking them daily to see how the garden growing.

Let me know if you have any questions.

{ Papertrey Ink Blog Hop - April }

The challenge: This month let's focus on tissue paper! It has become one of the hottest trends in the paper crafting world and we want to see you take it on! Whether it is die-cutting it to make beautiful layered blooms, the faux silk technique, creating layered backgrounds or even delicate stitched pleated borders, we want to see you get creative! And don't forget, your new stamps arrive lovingly wrapped in tissue paper each month, so these can prove to be "free & green" projects as well! Have fun and we look forward to seeing all of your projects!

I created a flower from tissue paper. I have a wonderful tutorial here. I made layers of tissue paper and patterned paper sprayed with Shimmerz and Glimmer Mist.
I used Guide Lines Two for my stamped background strip and Mega Mixed Messages for the sentiment. The blue ribbon is seam binding sprayed with Shimmerz Vibez.

Supplies: Mega Mixed Messages and Guide Lines Two stamp set, PTI button, Making Memories and MME patterned paper, The Paper Studio brad, October Afternoon journaling note, tissue paper, machine stitching, Scarlet Glimmer Mist, Ruby and Cotton Candy Shimmerz Spritz, Blue Jeans and Jeni B Blue Vibez, Making Memories pin.

{ Elle's Studio April Projects }

Elle's Studio April Inspiration gallery is up an full of beautiful creations. While you are there check out the new items including A Sweet Summer collection.

Here are my projects for this month.
This layout just came together in a flash. I wanted to use the cute photos of Alex in the rain playing with my umbrella.  The background paper is Fancy Pants Designs, filled with adorable clouds. I sprayed a touch of Grape Escape and Sunset Strip Vibez on the background. The large April calendar tag is from 2010 Vintage Calendar set. You get all 12 in the set and each month is a different color.
I sprayed white crepe paper with Grape Escape Vibez and I added Sassafras Lass Banner sticker over the top. I tucked Vintage Spring Flash Cards (umbrella and rain) under the paper and pinned Date and Place tag over the top with Making Memories pin.
I love how all the colors fit perfectly together. That is why I love these tags so much, they are so versatile. I used Chic Note tag for my journaling.

How about a pink layout??? This one is fun and all for me! The photos are from our visit to the Dallas Arboretum. I used My Mind's Eye paper for the background. I layered the photos over Making Memories journaling note that I stamped with Cover-a-card Medallion stamp that was left over from another project. I love those Vintage Flash cards, they come with so many different words on them. This one was left over from Spring Flash Cards.
My flower is made from layers of pink crepe paper over Granny's Doily circle tag. The butterfly fabric brad is from The Paper Studio. I used another little Sassafras Lass banner and layered it over Vintage Spring Flash card. I added little Magenta Shimmerz paint dots to the foam letters and I stamped some larger dots on the background.
The blue flower is made out of crinkled ribbon that I made. I sprayed it with Blue Jeans Vibez and then painted the top with Angel Wings Shimmerz paint. I ruffled pink crepe paper under Granny's Doily Circle tag. I love using Helmar adhesive to adhere crepe paper. I added some sparkle stickers to a Chic Date Tag and my journaling is on a Chic Journaling tag.

My last little project is my garden journal. I had so much fun making this. We planted a garden last week, our first, so I need to record everything.
It has five, fun pages filled with little goodies.
I will come back with another post to show you all the fun details and how I made this little album.

{ 2 Sketches 4 You and Dear Lizzy }

I made this card the other night for the American Crafts Dear Lizzy challenge. I looked at the 2S4Y sketch today and it looks like the sketch on its side.  I had these two papers from the collection for a long time and I finally cut into them. I cut the banner from the paper and it fit perfectly over my crepe paper ruffle. It was left over from my card. The round sticker is from American Crafts journaling set.

I made the flower from my pink crepe paper and added two leaves that I cut from paper. I made the crinkled ribbon and this was my last bit of this color. I need to make more. I added some buttons and a Making Memories pin to the center.

{ Card patterns #60, Elle's Studio giveaway }

I found this wonderful sketch at Card patterns yesterday and I had to use my new Tweet Life (CL256)  clear stamp set. from Impression Obsession. Look how cute all those bird cages are.

I used my new crinkled ribbon that I made with Shimmerz and Glimmer Mist. Tammy has a wonderful tutorial on how to do this. I love the way mine turned out and I can make any color that I need.
I stamped the bird cage on cardstock and I painted the birds and bottom of the cages with PearlEx watercolors. I think this might be my second time using them, but they are wonderful.
I sprayed my white crepe streamer with Jeni-B-Blue Shimmerz Vibez to get this beautiful color.  I embossed the Core'dinations cardstock with Cuttlebug Swirls Embossing folder.

***Elle's Studio is giving away six different journaling tag sets. Go to the BLOG to enter. All new items will launch at 7:00 am PST this coming Monday, April 19th.

Solid Bird stamp (E6993), Solid Cherry Blossom Branch (G6968), Blooming Spring sentiment (B5423), and Cover-a-Card Wood Grain stamp (CC034) for the background.

The background is stamped with Cover-a-card Wood Grain stamp (CC034) that was first sprayed with Licorice Shimmerz Spritz and Sunset Strip Vibez.

{ Elle's Studio mini album and designer spotlight }

I made this little album for my Designer Spotlight project for Elle's Studio. Check out the BLOG to read more about me and see photos of my scrapbook space.

I used Prompts, Patterns and Journaling tags for the outside of my album. The album started with the library pocket template and Vintage Spring and Picnic Flash Cards.

I made five library pockets out of Basic Grey patterned paper. Each pocket holds a Vintage Flash Card with a photo. I stamped each flash card with Chic Note & Date stamp for my journaling. I added fabric covered brads, ribbon and buttons.

My library pockets are joined by Elle's Studio package inserts...they are just the perfect size. I cut the Granny's Doily Circles in half and adhered them to the outside of my pockets.

I sprayed my white crepe paper with Shimmerz Vibez and made a flower. I used Basic Grey paper, Sassafras Lass banner and Date and Place strip.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Enjoy your Sunday.
