{ Magistical Memories November guest designer projects }

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!! We had a blast eating, staying warm and just hanging out.

I made two more projects for my November Guest Designer spot at Magistical Memories.

 I made three tags using Tulip, Flower and Art Deco Stem chipboard. I used several different techniques here.
I started by painting each piece with Gesso,Shimmerz paint and glue. I added glitter while the glue was still wet. After it was dry, I stamped each piece with a Cover-a-Card Script stamp (CC350) in brown ink.
I used these little brown bags to hold my tags that I stamped with polka dots. The bags are tied with ribbon and adorned with the completed chipboard. The bags are stamped with Flourish 1 stamp (F5549).

Layout using ButterflyBubble Border, and Filigree Frame. On my last project I experimented with different techniques, paint and tape. This time I left my chipboard bare...it was really hard, but I love how it stands out against the background. The photos are from our visit to the State Fair last month. I used Polarize phone application and used my photo printer to print them out. Love them!

Have a great day!

{ Technique Tuesday - Terrific Tag Challenge }

It's time for another Technique Tuesday challenge ---  make a gift tag! The only catch is your tag has to have some kind of stamping on it and be something you could tie onto a package. You don’t have to use Technique Tuesday stamps for this challenge. You have until December 8 to upload your project....DETAILS HERE. Easy!!!

Here are my tags. I love making them!!! They are easy and you can add them to your gifts. I love pulling several different stamp sets together and mixing them up.

For this set I used Glee, Holly Jolly Christmas, and  Passion For Polka.
 I started by stamping the bottom with polka dots. I punched several 3/4" circles and arranged them on tags and then I sprayed the tags with Apple and Graphite Glimmer Mist. The sleigh with the reindeer and the sentiment is from the Holly Jolly Christmas. I added music notes at the top of each tag. The music notes are stamped on the flowers, as well. I added a glitter pom pom to each flower.

I received my December Daily stamp set  by Ali Edwards  the other day and I thought they would be perfect for some tags. That stamp set is designed for everyone that is doing Ali's December Daily album, but, as you can see, there are many other uses for them.

 I used Martha Stewart die cut tags and stamped each one with Peace on Earth stamp. After that I varied the centers. The snowflake center is perfect for 1" punch and the star is punched with 3/4" punch. 2010 fits perfectly in the round stamp and I cut that one by hand. The circle is a little bit over an inch and I figured it would be faster to cut it out than to look for a die. Each tag is inked and sprayed with Shimmerz Spritz to match.
These could easily be tied to a package with some twine or adhered to an envelope, gift card or a small package.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Please upload your Terrific Tags project to the gallery on Splitcoast. When you upload it, be sure to include TTSCS8 in the keywords section, as well as the keywords “Technique_Tuesday; techniquetuesday “ if you have used TT stamps. Then, share a link to it on the message board.

One person will win Pointed Perfection.

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge - These are a few of my favorite things....}

Hello and welcome to another Impression Obsession DT challenge. We have challenges every other week - DETAILS HERE - if you play you could win a $25 gift certificate to the Impression Obsession store.

My Favorite Things, from The Sound of Music (words to the song at the end of my post). I looked at all the stuff that I had and one stamp was perfect for the challenge - Gift of Love CL137 - brown paper packages tied up with strings. The song makes me happy so I used all my favorite colors together.
 I stamped the background with Cover-a-card Snowflakes CC066 using VersaMark and clear embossing powder with glitter (hard to see in the photo). I sprayed the background with Shimmerz Vibez Spritz.
The lace circle die cut is from Laina Lamb digital kit. I used my Cricut Expression to cut it out, the size that I want!!! I used my SCAL and Cricut to cut the borders, as well.

I colored the image with watercolors. I have this Watercolor Wheel Stack Pack by Koh-I-Noor that I love. The colors are really bright. I added Stickles to the tree. The sentiment is from Holiday Borders CL137.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad.

I hope you'll take the time to visit the other designers' blogs for inspiration! Jenny, Dina, Laura, Julie, Jeanne, Kathy and Deborah.

You can see what the design team created here. You have until November 18 to upload your project. In addition, you can win a free stamp set from Technique Tuesday by commenting on the message board.

I made a little gift card holder to hold a special treat to a favorite place....Starbucks, Target, craft store...You can change the paper/colors for any occasion!

 The gift card holder is from The Cutting Cafe. I stamped the Borderline Vintage Lace on cardstock that I cut out, as you can see below. I added little pearls for more dimension.

 The sentiment is from Flurry stamp set that I added here, but you can change it to whatever you need.
 I stamped music notes from Glee stamp set on Prima Marketing paper for my unique patterned paper.
I hope you have time to play.

{ Magistical Memories November guest designer }

I am November guest designer at Magistical Memories and I will have several projects to share throughtout the month on their blog.

My first project is this card I made using Fancy Frame by Toni Rivera and Art Deco Stem chipboard.

I painted the Fancy Frame with white Gesso, which is a primer. I like using it because it dries quickly and makes my top color pop. Here, I sprayed the frame with blue shimmer spray. The Art Deco Stem is covered with 7gypsies tape. I layered strips over the stem and used my exacto knife to cut off the excess. I added little flowers, buttons and butterflies. I used my Sizzix embossing folder for the card base.
I hope you like it. Let me know if you have any questions.
Have a great day!!!

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge - Holiday Family Traditions }

Hello and welcome to another Impression Obsession DT challenge. We have challenges every other week - DETAILS HERE - if you play you could win a $25 gift certificate to the Impression Obsession store.

Holiday Family Traditions -- For this challenge I made a layout. We have several traditions and some new ones that I stared once Alex was born. This is a photo of us from last Christmas. One of our traditions is to open one present on Christmas Eve, an ornament. We all get one.   I started a Hallmark Keepsake ornament collection for Alex, starting with his first Christmas in 2008. In this photo he is opening his ornament that he gets to put on the tree. There is a Frosty Fun Decade collection that is starting this year, and I love snowmen.

This layout came together pretty quick once I had an idea. I started with white cardstock and stamped Cover-card Music (CC029) with VersaMark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I punched circles from paper and arranged them on the background. I sprayed the paper with Shimmerz Spritz and Glimmer Mist. After that I stamped Cover-a-card Script (CC050) with brown ink, randomly.

The trees are from Swirl Trees CL196. I just stamped them with green ink and cut out. The little star is from Circle Frames (CL117) and the sentiment that I stamped on green sticker tag is from All Season stamp set (WP222). I added tiny pearls by Kaiser Craft. I used Journaling I stamp set (WP165) for my journaling note that I stamped on white cardstock and cut out. I tucked it behind the photo and it pulls out. I added a star brad and twine.

How is that for no patterned paper? The photo is on a journaling note from Making Memories. I added Jenni Bowlin, Webster's Pages and Making Memories letter stickers. I used plain chipboard frame with a flower from Prima and a little doily to complete the layout.

I hope you'll take the time to visit the other designers' blogs for inspiration! Jenny, Dina, Laura, Julie, Jeanne, Kathy and Deborah.

{ Mojo Monday 163 }

Here is my card for this week's Mojo Monday #163 sketch. I used Up, Up and Away stamp set by Verve stamps.
 The top border edge is punched with my new Martha Stewart border punch. I had a 50% off coupon and there were too many to chose from. I sprayed the cream cardstock and the chipboard frame with Shimmerz Spritz. I added Belle Artes Prima flower and seam binding ribbon. The bottom ruffle is pink crepe paper.

I sprayed the patterned paper from Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology collection with Shimmerz Spritz. The paper is embossed so when you spray and blot the design shows up. I stamped the balloon stamp over the top and cut it out. The bottom edge is created by stamping one of the stamp designs in a row.

....and a photo of me from yesterday. Alex didn't want his face painted, but he wanted me to get mine done.
