Good morning and happy Valentine’s Day. I have a card on Elle’s Studio blog showcasing our February 2017 kit and extras. I knew I was posting on Valentine’s Day, but wanted to create someting different.
I was inspired by the 3″ x 4″ floral background tag from the kit and wanted to use it as a focal element on my card. I used my watercolor crayons to color in the flowers and leaves on the journaling card background- just a little touch of color with the crayon and a little water with the paint brush to move the color around. I added a little bit of color to the diamond patterned paper of the card base as well.
I cut a strip of yellow from one of the patterned papers in the Sunny Days 12 x 12 Paper Collection and used my fringe scissors to add a fringe to the paper strip. I cut the striped border journaling tag from Love You Journaling Tags in half and adhered it behind my watercolored flower journaling card. The fringe was added to the bottom and a little twine tied in a bow to the front. I added the yellow heart sticker from the Speech Bubble Stickers and layered the colorful banner tag from the February 2017 Exclusive Kit. It was the perfect way to pull all of the colors together.
I used a gray marker to draw the flowers onto white cardstock, then I colored them with the same watercolor crayons. They are a larger version of the ones on the journaling card. I fussy cut them and adhered them to the front with 3D foam squares. Above the flowers, the “hello” sticker from the Speech Bubble Stickers created the perfect sentiment!
Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to share your projects inspired by this post using Elle’s Studio products using the hashtag #EllesStudio on social media for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the Elle’s Studio shop!
It is my turn today to share a card I made using Impression Obsession stamps and dies. Here is what I created.
I used Big Butterfly stamp that I stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The image and the background is colored with watercolor crayons.
I stamped the sentiment and die cut “thoughts” from black foam. I added some flowers and a leaf to the center of the butterfly. Quick and easy.

Our September release of Memory Keepers Studio – What’s Cooking and Fresh Cut Studio – Retro Labels is available now. Plus, check out all that is new and available for September.
Here is what I created with the set. I just made French Macarons so it was a perfect stamp set for a little gift. I have been making Macarons all summer and I am still working on making them look perfect. They are delicious and a special little treat.
I created a little tag using Story Card - DIY Steel Die. I stamped the lines from College Ruled stamp set and die cut the tag from Fresh Cut Studio – Retro Labels. I painted the rose on plain white cardstock using watercolor crayons.
The box and the inside liner I designed myself in Silhouette Studio. When I get an idea I just go for it. I just love that little program. This box fits 3 Macarons. For the outside I painted roses with leaves and added twine. I die cut the label from Mark It - DIY Steel Die. I recently lost a die, well, I couldn’t find it, still looking for it, which resulted in a total clean up and new storage for my dies. If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen a video.
I even added a piece of parchment paper because I didn’t want to get the lid dirty.
Thanks for making it this far. I loved taking photos of this little project. Macarons are delicious. If you would like to give them a try this is the recipe I use from Martha Stewart French Macarons and chocolate ganache filling. These are about 1.5” in diameter and fit perfectly in the box.
Have a great Tuesday.
