{ Card kit Monday–Circles and Triangles }

Hello and happy Monday! I have a brand new kit for you today! I planned on doing a video, but after I cut all the pieces, I totally forgot. So no video this time. When I make my “take 2” version I will film a video. This is a card kit, but you can use it on a layout or any other project you choose. The files can be made bigger or smaller as needed.

Here is what I created today.

This kit comes with two circles and three circles. You can size them to whatever size you want. For this card I cut several different sized of each and ended up using 3 total. I like to cut things from white cardstock since I can change it to any color I want. For the yellow one I used color shine and the black one is cut from cardstock.
The tag I colored with yellow watercolor crayon and stamped the sentiment from Technique Tuesday Thank you stamp set.  I added a little sewing thread to the mix and a vellum butterfly that I had laying around. You could easily cut a butterfly from Just For Your card kit.
This is super easy to play with and it came together really fast.

{ Watercolor blog hop }

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am participating in Pretty Pink Posh blog hop. I have been using watercolor on my projects since I started this blog in 2007. I have everything from Loew Cornell 1021095 Simply Art Watercolor Cakes, Chartpak Mondeluz Aquarell Watercolor Pencils, 24-Pack, Caran d'Ache Classic Neocolor II Water-Soluble Pastels, 15 Colors, Sakura XNCW-24N 24-Piece Koi Assorted Water Colors Field Sketch Set with Brush,  Koh-I-Noor Watercolor Wheel Stack Pack set of 24, and now Faber-Castell Mix and Match Gelatos Gift Set 28 per Package (770161).

Here is a card I created for this hop using Technique Tuesday stamps and dies.

I used a woodgrain mask for the background to apply modeling paste and then I added watercolor with my watercolor crayon. It’s quick and easy and my favorite technique. See the list below for stamps and dies used on this card. I just love that butterfly die, it’s from the new June Fresh Cut Studio.

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge–happy birthday }

Hi and welcome to our  Impression Obsession challenge – Happy birthday.

Here is my card.

I used the new Spring Wreath die for this card. I still have several Doodlebug Designs Sugar Coated cardstock and that is what I used for the tiny flowers. You can see them sparkle. The background is stamped with Scribble Checkerboard CAC and Wood Grain CAC. This new Wood Grain is a little bit different from my favorite Cover-a-Card Wood Grain.

The sentiment is from Banners & Greetings. I stamped the banner first, then the sentiment on top of that. I added some Neon Flamingo Stickles around the wreath. I used MFT sketch challenge 216 for this card.

{a flair for buttons} and The Cut Shoppe Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to our blog hop. Today we are sharing projects made with The Cut Shoppe cut files and {a flair for buttons} flair.

Here is my layout.

I used Borderlines cut file for the heart and the scalloped border. The heart is backed with the patterned paper called Hello Sunshine. Actually, both sides of that paper are used here. The words of “you are my sunshine” are on the black background. Didn’t know I had it, love it, and it was perfect for this layout.
I added words from Words to Live by in the right lower corner. I added a flair button for the “o”. Another flair button is by the photo with “hello you are awesome”.

I mixed some old and new dies for this card - Instant Photo Frame and Kite. Love the kite, you can create different color combinations. My big shot can cut through several paper layers so I always layer two or three patterned papers and die cut.

The background is stamped with my all time favorite Cover-a-Card Wood Grain. I added a little “friend” stamp from Express Yourself on a die cut Flags Die Set.

The flair is from {A Flair For Buttons}.

Here is my card.

I have to tell you that my card idea came from two pieces of paper, while I was looking for specific travel stickers and couldn’t find them anywhere. I loved these two pieces of patterned paper and wanted to use them on my card. Guess what? I knew I had these two Cover-a-card backgrounds and could make my own. CAC Large Dots and CAC Thick Stripes (click on photos below for links).

 

For the polka dots I used several different shades of red and pink to get the ombre effect. For the stripes I used Heidi Swap Navy ink. Love those stripes!!! I found the stickers I was looking for and added the tag and “adventure” circle sticker. The #travel flair from {A Flair For Buttons} was a perfect for the card.

The sentiment and the globe came from To Travel Is To Live stamp set.

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge – Masculine }

Here is my card.

I love how this turned out. I used several different stamp sets for the stamped rows (see the links below).
For this card I started at the bottom. After each stamped row I added Zips™ between the stamping. Zips are clear adhesive lines. They are ultra thin and about 1/8″ wide.  These thin lines of glue are perfect for paper strips, ribbon, paper borders and other long embellishments, or in this case Flower Soft. Cut the Zips to the desired length. Apply to cardstock and peal top layer.  Use your finger to press Flower Soft into the adhesive.
I layered Elle’s Studio tags, a die cut star and added a flair from {A Flair For Buttons} to the center.

{ Card flair and Die cut freebies }

Looks like it’s been a while since I shared a free file. Freebies are popular on this blog and I see them pinned on Pinterest and I get updates when they are downloaded from my blog. Well, I am ready to share more. I was thinking about retiring some of my old freebies as I upload the new files. Let me know what you think.

I created this card using Sentiment Bubble Flair from {A Flair For Buttons}. I am sharing it on A flair for buttons blog.

I used Mojo Monday 347 for the card. Tall & Skinny. I used Heidi Swapp cardstock that I had for a long time and found it recently. I sprayed it with Citron color shine.
I created the flower in my Silhouette Studio that I cut out. You can make the flower whatever size you want. Just make sure you select all three shapes when you make them bigger or smaller.
I colored each flower layer with Gelatos. I used the flair for the center of the flower. The flair set comes with 6 different sentiments, perfect for cards.

Today I am sharing the Layered flower file.
