{ Happy Valentine's Day }

My sweet little boy!!! He is pretty good at following directions. He has been sick all week and it's been rough around here. He is finally feeling better today, but now I am sick! We spent the day just hanging around the house. Here is a little altered bird house I created for My Scrapbook Nook with the February kit. I love making these little flowers. My friend Lolly has a great video tutorial here. I wasn't sure about this Basic Grey Origins collection, but I like it! I hope you had a wonderful ♥ day!

I sprayed the cream background to give it a vibrant color.
I used My Scrapbook Nook February kit for this layout. I made the little banner by cutting some squares, folding them in half and then cutting at an angle to make a triangle. I used fabric-tac to attach the paper to the twine. For the bottom edge I used a stencil to spray Sunset Strip Vibez and a touch of Licorice Spritz. Here, I lightly sprayed with Sunset Strip Vibez, Sea Foam Shimmerz Spritz and Chickadee Shimmerz Spritz. I heat embossed Dandelion Seed stamp using white embossing powder. I added more Sunset Strip Vibez over the top. The color are so vibrant and have the same Shimmer Factor as our Shimmerz Spritz.

{ My Scrapbook Nook February kit }

Here it is...our February kit...Basic Grey Origins. This is my last month with the team and my last kit. Here is a layout I created with this beautiful kit. I added black sticker letters from my stash and my new Cover-a-card Wood Grain stamp from Impression Obsession. I sprayed the stamp with Licorice Shimmerz Spritz to stamp the background. I added a little journaling tag from Elle's Studio. For the card, I stamped the background with Cover-a-card Large polka dots. I was unsure about the colors, but I love them now! I love using things that are laying around on my desk, like this stamp. { New Shimmerz Pearlz }

The new Pearlz are here!!!! Here is a little card I created using Ballet Slipper and Morning Mist Shimmerz Pearlz. I painted the chipboard butterfly with white paint. After it was dry I painted it with Ballet Slipper Shimmerz Pearlz. For the polka dots, I used a toothpick to "drop" Morning Mist Shimmerz Pearlz onto the butterfly. The flower is made out of tissue paper that was painted with Ballet Slipper Shimmerz Pearlz using a sponge. If you would like to make these flowers check out my tissue flower tutorial. I used My Scrapbook Nook January Kit paper and chipboard butterfly, and Elle's Studio new XOXO Bazzill Cardstock and XOXO Journaling Tags.

{ Inspire Me 2010 - week 2, My Scrapbook Nook, Robot Party }

Here is my ATC for Inspire Me week 2. Fun technique with tissue paper. I pretty much did it just like Rhonda, with my own twist....and I used Shimmerz. Licorice Shimmerz Spritz for the bottom layer then I painted the tissue paper with Lilac Shimmerz. The little house is sprayed with Chickadee Shimmerz Spritz.

I used Happiness Is stamp set from Impression Obsession, Elle's Studio journal tag, Maya Road chipboard house, Prima flower and Basic Grey rub-on. The house is sprayed with Chickadee Shimmerz Spritz and lots of glitter. I am still creating with My Scrapbook Nook January kit....Pink Paislee Cupid collection. This kit is sold out. Alex's Robot party was a success. I had issues with the cake frosting, but it turned out OK. We made the robot and the idea came from here. Betty Crocker Robot Cake.

{ Inspire Me 2010 }

I found something else to keep me occupied this year. In addition to taking daily photos, again, I am joining Ronda Palazzari and doing weekly ATC cards. She is posting wonderful techniques and word prompts.

How fun are these little cards! I sprayed the background with a light coat of Vintage Hymn Shimmerz Spritz. Then, I applied white branch rub-on. I sprayed over that with Ruby Shimmerz Spritz and stamped polka dots with December Sky Blingz. Pink Paislee cherub stamp, Chick note stamp from Elle's Studio, paper clip and bakers twine from Making Memories and One Bright Spot flower. A while back I found these ATC cards at Michaels, dollar bin, and bought several packages. Didn't know what I was going to do with them at the time, but how perfect are they now! I am so excited. Week 2 is posted, I better get started on that. I wanted to share Alex's birthday party invitation that I made. The little robot stamp is from Michaels. I colored him with Prismacolor pencils and gemsol. Other stamps used: Hampton Art, Sassafras Lass and Impression Obsession. Can you guess what the theme is? One of my favorite projects is published in CardMaker January 2010 issue. It's a tin with a set of four cards using Basic Grey stamps and Pink Paislee patterned paper. Two full pages, 18 &19. { Pink Paislee flower tree, Elle's Studio blog challenge }

I am still using my January kit from My Scrapbook Nook - Pink Paislee Cupid collection. Fun colors.

I had this Styrofoam tree left over that I wanted to cover with flowers. I punched out patterned paper and old book paper with 2 inch scalloped circle punch. Each flower has three layers of paper, three for the book paper and then one patterned paper with two book papers. I don't know if you can tell that I alternated the rows of book paper, every other row. It just worked itself out. I was worried that at the end the flowers will not fit, but they did. I used brads for the flower centers. I had this huge box of Basic Grey brads and they were perfect. At the end, using a make up sponge, I painted the flower edges with Bubble Gum Shimmerz paint and Hi Ho Silver Blingz. And a card I made for a sweet little girl. Everything is from the January kit and I added fabric, flower and the button.

{ Love mini album, Project 365 - week 48 }

Warning! Photo heavy post! Wow, my first post of the year. I am a little behind on everything because I haven't been feeling well for the last couple of days. My Christmas decorations are still up and I hope to get some energy to deconstruct everything. 2009 was a great year and I am sad to see it go.

Here is my little project that I made with My Scrapbook Nook January kit. It comes with these kraft envelopes from Maya Road that were perfect for this little album. I used four envelopes and Bind-It-All to bind them together. I added paper, die cuts, stamps and gems from the kit. I added some Prima flowers and gingham fabric for the tags. I tucked a tag in each envelope with a photo. and journaling on the back. All the pages and envelopes are sprayed with Babys Breath and Bed of Roses Shimmerz Spritz. It gives everything a nice Shimmer. I have more photos here.

Project 365 has ended on December 29, but since I am behind posting photos I will continue until the end. Someone asked me if I would continue posting photos after the Project is over. I am still taking photos every day and I will post some here, but maybe not in this format. I haven't decided what to do yet.

Project 365 - week 48.

11.23 - on our way to Arizona. 11.24 - stopped for a break somewhere in New Mexico...it was really cold outside and we needed fresh air, and a diaper change. 11.25 - Alex in front of grandma's house..he was collecting rocks. 11.26 - just a cute photo of us on Thanksgiving. 11.27 - Alex with his cousins at the Zoo. 11.28 - Alex at grandma's house collecting rocks, again. 11.29 - family photo at Saguaro National Park in Tuscon on our way back home.
