{ Kiwi Lane Designs + Technique Tuesday }

We paired up with Kiwi Lane Designs to create some projects using their templates. Their Designer Templates were developed with the Process of Framing in mind. If you haven't seen their framing demo Click Here. Check out all the different templates they have.

I used Sentiments Designer templates to create these layered borders. I traced each shape on different patterned paper that I cut out. I used Say It With Circles stamp set for the little bird and the sentiment. The sentiment was curved on my acrylic block to follow the curved shape of the design.

{ DCWV/Therm O Web Summer Lovin’ Blog hop }

Welcome to the DCWV/Therm O Web Summer Lovin’ Blog hop.
Today, the design teams from DCWV and Therm O Web have brought together all the things we love about summer! The designers are have combined paper from DCWV’s Sunday Afternoon and Everlasting \Love stacks, together with a variety of adhesives, mists and other fantastic products from Therm O Web!
If you have come here from Britthen you're on track! If not, you should go back to the DCWV blog and start today’s leg of the hop from there!
Here is my project. I altered an old disc using DCWV Sunday Afternoon paper collection.

Start by cutting a doily from one of the patterned papers and adhere it to the disc using Zots Adhesive Dots.

After you cut all the little elements from patterned paper, adhere it to the front using 3D Foam Squares, Sticky Strip Runner and Zots Adhesive Dots. Splatter little yellow mist.

Stamp the sentiment (Technique Tuesday) on one of the cut outs and adhere to the front with a photo.

Be sure to visit all the blogs today, and leave comments for your chance to win!  Two lucky readers will win a set of 3 stacks from DCWV, and an additional reader will receive an amazing gift pack from Therm O Web!  The more you comment, the more chances you have to win!

***Now, head on over to ------>>>> Jan - to see what kind of spring craftiness they have in store!

Have fun hopping!

{ Scrapbook Circle May kit–My Favorite }

Good morning. Just wanted to share some of my layouts I created with this beautiful May kit from Scrapbook Circle.

Challenge #53: Pattern Mix-Up

1. Create a layout that boldly mixes patterns. We would love to see a Scrapbook Circle kit in action, but any materials will do.

2. Post your project to your blog, a gallery, or our Facebook page. Come back to this post and leave a comment with the direct link to your posted project.

3. Deadline to enter is Wednesday, June 5th, 9:00 pm Pacific. That’s right – you have three weeks to complete this challenge!

A $10.00 shop credit will be awarded to a randomly selected player. Good luck and happy scrapping!

Here is my layout. I hand wrote the title on different patterned papers and cut them out.

Patterned paper background.

Today by Daniela Dobson

I don’t like to use bright, busy, patterned paper as my background, but I loved this one from Basic Grey Mint Juleup Naomi. I cut it slightly smaller than 8.5 x 11″ and adhered it on yellow cardstock. It makes those yellow flowers pop. The two Instagram photos were layered over some lighter patterned paper and a Fancy Pants Trendsetter Decorative Bag.
I lightened up the bottom with a mask and some color shine.

Stars.

Splash by Daniela Dobson

I really liked the  Fancy Pants Trendsetter Decorative Bag with stars, that came in the kit. I love stars and use them quite often on boy layouts.

I used a star pattern mask from Studio Calico that came in our add-on January kit and added modeling paste to the mask. You can use any mask that you have. I even tried regular cardstock with punched stars and it worked the same. Once the modeling paste was dry I added drops of mist.

I added more die cut stars from white cardstock. Some were cut with Silhouette Cameo and some were punched out. If you need some stars I have a free file download on my blog for Silhouette users.

In the end I added three Basic Grey Metal Studs/Brass Stars to the page.

Have a great day. We are getting ready to go and spend our day outside!!

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge – In the air }

Hi and welcome to our  Impression Obsession challenge – In the air.

Our challenge starts today, May 16, and continues to the following Wednesday evening, May22, at 10 PM.

Create a new card using  Impression Obsession stamps and post it on Impression Obsession Blog, between May 16 - 22. A winner will be chosen randomly to win a $25 gift certificate to the Impression Obsession store.

Here is my card.

Happy day by Daniela Dobson

I used Banners and Greetings stamp set. I stamped the banners in three different colors and added them to the top of the card. I used 3D White Foam Squares from Therm O Web to add dimension to one of the banners and the sentiment banner on the bottom.

The butterflies are stamped and cut out. I added a brad to each one and used Zots Adhesive Dots by Therm O Web to adhere them to the card. The patterned paper is from Simple Stories Vintage Bliss collection.

{ Sweet Stamp Shop–Introducing Austen Obsessed and Weird Love }

I was asked to create several projects with some of the new May stamp sets from Sweet Stamp Shop.  The official release day was yesterday. You can see al the wonderful creations with the new stamp sets on the Sweet Stamp Shop blog.

Today is my spotlight day on the Sweet Stamp blog and you can see what I created with the stamp sets.

For my first card I used Austen Obsessed stamp set. It has favorite quotes from her book. It also has a really beautiful lace border that you can use with pretty much anything.

I used a piece of the lace border to stamp the doilies. I drew an one inch circle with a pencil and stamped around the circle. I erased the pencil before I added watercolor crayons.

Hope by Daniela Dobson

I used 3D Foam Adhesive to pop up the middle doily. I sprinkled some color shine over the card and added sequins.

Body and soul by Daniela Dobson

For this one I used Prima mask and modeling paste to add texture to the bottom of the card. I sprinkled glitter while it was still wet and at the end sprayed with Color Shine. I stamped the lace border and added watercolor crayons.

One last one with this set using just the sentiment.

Weird Love comes with this beautiful sentiment and lips and a mustache.

True love by Daniela Dobson

I stamped the sentiment on cardstock and added it to a piece of fabric with a pin. The wood veneer heart is colored with Faber Castell pen.

For this last card I stamped the lips on the bottom and then just stamped the Love from the quote and cut it apart. I added a mixture of embellishments I had on my desk to the cut out tag. Love close by Daniela Dobson
