{ Papertrey Ink Blog Hop - February }

This is my first blog hop! I received my awesome goodies last week. The challenge: put a little "spring" into your step, by incorporating the flowers, familiar sights and colors of spring into a project. I used my new stamp set: Beyond Basic Borders and the flowers are from Wise Owl set. Bitty Dot Basics paper and Spring Moss ink by Papertrey Ink, Imaginisce patterned paper, Basic Grey button, crochet flower handmade by my mom, Sizzix die cut tag, Bazzill butterfly strip. CPS 104 sponsored by Papertrey Ink this week. I received my order from them on Friday and I couldn't wait to dive in. I finally ordered the cardstock and Bitty Dot patterned paper. For this card I used Beyond Basic Borders stamp set, Making Memories Chloe's closet paper, stickers and flowers.

I had so much fun with this sketch from Laura. I used Basic Grey Bittersweet collection papers and chipboard. Prima flower and brad, Hampton Art stamp, and journaling spot is by Karen Grunberg. Brown polka dot paper by Papertrey Ink. It comes in all different colors and I love polka dots.

Project 365 - Week 8

2.16 - when checking on Alex during his nap this is how I found him. I did reposition his legs.

2.17 - he found and opened a bag of cookies I was saving from Valentine's Day. I think he liked them.

2.18 - trip to Target. He had so much fun playing with the candles and the bird cages.

2.19 - we went to the playground. It was a bit chilly.

2.20 - on the way back from the playground. Today was warmer and he loves to go outside.

2.21 - daddy is back!!! We went to a birthday party.

2.22 - drinking milk after lunch. Alex ♥ milk!

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge #14 - orange and pink }

I will not tell you how long it took me to make this card. The pink paper is left over from Pink Paislee Sweet Cakes collection and the orange is Sassafras Lass. Solid Florals stamp set is one of my favorite sets. I stamped one of the images on white cardstock to make patterned paper and then I cut a strip for my card. I cut the butterfly shape from the same stamped paper. I flipped it over and traced a butterfly. I made my own butterfly templates in Photoshop. I use them over and over. The sentiment is from Anytime Sentiments set.

{ 2 Sketches 4 You - Kazan's sketch 20, CPS 103, Project 365 - Week 7 }

Last week was really crazy for me and this one didn't start any better, but it's only Tuesday. I can't wait for my husband to come back home this Friday. A really quick post while Alex is taking a nap.

This first card is for Kazan's sketch 20. I flipped it. You know how sometimes you start with something in mind, but it doesn't turn out the way you imagined it. Well, this is what happened here. I love this American Crafts paper, didn't know I had it. Using my stash again. I think I received it as a prize. The green patterned paper is by Making Memories, Jenni Bowling bird journaling note, Making Memories flower, and American Crafts rub-on.

The second card is for CPS 103. I started with a journaling note that I made myself. Then, I just followed the sketch and the colors of the stamped journaling note. Basic Grey Urban Prairie was a perfect match. That beautiful ribbon is from Michael's dollar bin. They have all the Spring stuff out. I will have to go back and get some more. It's American Crafts ribbon, and it comes in all different colors. Bird house and sentiment stamps are by Hampton Art and the butterfly is Impression Obsession stamp. I used my watercolor pencils to color both images.

Project 365 - Week 7

2.9 - Alex posing on the stairs before his Dr. appointment. 2.10 - he figured out how to step into the box all by himself. 2.11 - he mastered climbing on the stool and sitting on it, with the remote, of course. 2.12 - trip to the store...I loved all the decorations when we first walked in. 2.13 - I made cookies for Valentine's Day. 2.14 - heart shaped waffle for Alex on Valentine's Day. 2.15 - Alex after his nap.

{ Happy Valentine's Day }

Happy Valentine's Day. Alex and I have been busy. I made some ♥ shapes for him to eat/play with. He tried to put the whole heart in his mouth, well, that didn't work. It eventually ended up on the floor. He ate the non-heart parts of the waffle. Fun morning. Here is a gift I got my little monkey and the card I made. I have been using these papers for another project. The hearts are hand cut from scraps. The bag is embellished, but I just now realized that I didn't include the photo. I made these cookies last night. I had so much fun for Christmas that I had to make them again. I wanted to do pink and white frosting, but the pink was really green, I grabbed the wrong one. The sprinkles add color. I leave you with a card I made with Impression Obsession stamps: Love Is All Around, Sweet Hearts, Love Seals, Journaling I. Have a great night!

{ CPS #102 and 2 Sketches 4 You #19 }

Today is my mom's birthday --- Happy Birthday mom! She lives in Croatia and I talked to her earlier today. I was going to post the card I made for her, but she didn't get the package yet and I want it to be a surprise. Last year she was here for her birthday and we went out and celebrated.

Here is my card for CPS sketch. I love this Kraft patterned paper by Making Memories from Love Notes collection. I found a Prima journaling note that matched perfectly - from my stash. Prima flowers and Making Memories rub-ons.

This card is for Laura's sketch #19. The paper is by Making Memories, Love Notes. I got the cutest notes and tags from Elle's Studio and that is what I used on the front of my card. I added Prima flowers and American Crafts ribbon. I had this ribbon in my stash forever. I can't believe that I am just now using it. It is so pretty.

{ CupCards{to go} February kit- Celebration Time and Project 365 - week 6 }

Project 365 - week 6

2.2 - a ride in the new car seat. We went to Hobby Lobby.

2.3 - daddy and Alex went for a walk/ride to the pond. 2.4 - Alex figured out how to open the gate. There is a safety latch. 2.5 - we are trying different foods this week. I just wanted a shot of the zebra in the bowl. Alex makes sure that everyone eats, he feeds me and now the zebra. 2.6 - today he tried cheese quesadillas, I think they are his favorite, and bananas. 2.7 - spaghetti tasting. He has the big bib on, just in case. Likes spaghetti, too. This shot was after the clean up. 2.8 - Alex and daddy at the airport.

{ Bitty Dot - sketch challenge }

OK, one more, really quick. I don't know how much time I have left, but the card is due tonight! Oh, I see, I have until 2 am my time. Nichole from Papertrey Ink has a sketch challenge. You have to connect the dots for the sketch, so fun! This is my take on the sketch. The papers came from my stash box, Collage Press, KI Memories lace cardstock, Paper Salon sticker, Studio G stamp. I did add new Basic Grey Bittersweet paper and button.

{ Over the rainbow - color challenge }

Wow, talk about a fast card! I had no plans on blogging. Actually I was getting ready to go to bed, but checked few of my favorite blogs last minute. Nichole at Papertrey Ink is having a 2 year anniversary celebration with fun challenges and giveaways. I love these colors so I made a quick card. I am still trying to use up my stash, and I have plenty. I love these papers by October Afternoon and Fancy Pants Designs. No stamping. We are all sick here, starting with Alex, his first cold.

{ Love is in the air at Embellish-Online }

Bittersweet collection by Basic Gray is so beautiful. Look at all those beautiful colors, my favorite. 6x6 pad is perfect for cards and projects and there are two sheets of each pattern. Chipboard shapes, buttons and brads add a perfect touch to your projects. The gallery goes live today, February 5, and you can see all the beautiful creations from the Design Team. I used Fiskars shape template for my heart, but you can use a die cut, hand draw a heart or trace from a magazine or clothing. I wanted large scallops so I used the heart shape, I just traced it on the back of paper and cut out. The heart shape is embossed with Cuttlebug embossing folder and I inked the edges.

I adhered the chipboard heart to patterned paper and cut it out. I wanted it to stand out against the pink paper. I love adding two buttons together for dimension. Here, I used Hemp cord to tie them to the ribbon bow. I bought these little note pads at a discount store (5 for $1). The cardstock covers front, spine and back. I adhered the pad to the back and embellished the front. These are so simple and fun, perfect for a gift. Michelle Wooderson did Mini Christmas notebooks and I loved the idea. I write things down all the time and have little note pads everywhere. I made chocolate heart lollipops using Wilton lollipop molds. I wrapped them in cellophane and tied ribbon around the base. I wanted them to look like flowers so I added a scalloped circle, flower and heart beads. I painted the clay flower pot to match the paper. I embellished the top of the pot with scalloped patterned paper, chipboard and buttons. I used Martha Stewart border punch. I used flower foam to hold the lollipops in the pot. I added crinkle paper to cover the foam. Once the chocolate is gone you can use this again next year. A perfect gift for an office or a centerpiece for a party. I used white chocolate mint and my room smells like it! I added sprinkles to the bottom of the mold before chocolate.
