{ March Studio AE Blog Hop from Technique Tuesday }

Welcome to our March 2013 Blog Hop.
Today we are featuring projects made with the Studio AE – This Story - March 2013.

Here is my layout.

This was so easy to make, since I used the cards that I created the other day using the stamps. For the first card I added 3D Foam Adhesive by Therm O Web and added a clothes pin from Amy Tangerine, Yes Please collection.

I stamped “tell the story” and “life is good” on this old October Afternoon sticker that I found. It matched all the green perfectly. For the title, I got my alphabet stash out and used some really old letter sets (Studio Calico, October Afternoon, American Crafts). I added little embellishments across the page from top right corner to bottom left corner to mimic some of the items that were on the original cards.

{ Free cut Friday }

Hello and happy Friday! I have several things to share with you today. Let’s start with a free file. This one is available for download on The Scrap Review blog or right below.

I duplicated the star several times and resized several so I can layer them.  I added a stapler to hold them together. They are sprayed with color mists.

I used a new set from Technique Tuesday called Banner Up. I stamped and cut the banners and I added the star border. The sentiment is from Awesome stamp set.

We are featuring watercolor crayons on or Technique Tuesday blog this week. Go over and check out all the beautiful creations and some wonderful watercolor crayon techniques. You can see them HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.

Here is a card I created using watercolor crayons.

I used four watercolor crayons (Grass Green, Ruby Red, Turquoise and Golden Yellow) to create the pretty stripes here. I applied color to the top of the watercolor paper panel and then used a waterbrush to drag the color down.

I stamped the journaling box from From the Heart by Ali Edwards right on top.

For the heart, I stamped the journaling box on watercolor paper and heat embossed polka dots from Passion for Polka over the top with clear embossing powder. I cut the heart out and then added color with a crayon.

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge–favorite technique }

Hi and welcome to our  Impression Obsession challenge – favorite technique.

Our challenge starts today, March 7, and continues to the following Wednesday evening, March 13, at 10 PM.

Create a new card using  Impression Obsession stamps and post it on Impression Obsession Blog, between March 7-13. A winner will be chosen randomly to win a $25 gift certificate to the Impression Obsession store.

I have way too many favorite techniques. I combined several in this card: heat embossing, machine stitching, stamping, handmade embellishments….But, If I had to pick one, then it would be heat embossing.

What I really like to do is heat emboss on patterned paper using clear embossing powder. Then I like to use mist, in this case Color Shine by Heidi Swapp, to add color. The patterned paper color and pattern shows through the embossing.

This was my first time trying our NEW flower dies!!! How fun are they? Love them. Spiral Daisy is the large one and the center bud and the little buds around are Spiral Flowers Die. Small Zots Adhesive Dots by Therm O Web are perfect to hold these little flowers together.

{ March Studio AE }

March is here and a new set from Studio AE – This Story - March 2013.
I made four note cards to use on my projects.

I used Story cards as my base. Stamped Chevrons on the background and added a strip of patterned paper to the top. I stamped the sentiments in different colors and added them to the cards with washi tape.

These would fit perfectly on a layout, a card or project life. On two of the cards I added a calendar stamp from Year Round stamp set. There are lots of new stamps in the store if you haven't checked them out.
