{ Celebrate with stars }

First, I wanted to announce a winner from our blog hop, Hip Kit Club and Elle’s Studio. My winner was Tina and I have contacted her.

I wanted to share some 4th of July cards I created recently and some in the past. Mostly, I wanted to share some free files for Silhouette Cameo.

These two are created with Elle’s Studio Patriotic Exclusive Stamp, Patriotic Journaling Tags, April Digital Cut File.

Remember this card? I am sharing it again because I needed a star shaped card. For the stamping I used USA Seal and Original Seal from Technique Tuesday. You can find the original blog post here.

Here is the silhouette file if you want to make a similar card. The card folds in the middle and the star pieces (on the right) are all separate. Just make sure you ungroup them. To get all different color patterned papers, I separate the star and line up five different patterns on the mat. I cut everything at the same time. If you need to resize the card, just make sure you select all the shapes so you get the star inserts to match the card. Let me know if you have any questions about that.

{ Impression Obsession Design Team Thursday }

It is my turn today to share a card I made using Impression Obsession stamps. Here is what I created.

I used the same background stamps as last week, CAC Large Dots and CAC Thick Stripes just because they were still sitting on my desk.

There is this very colorful patterned paper under the polka dots from American Crafts. The feathers and die cut from a different American Crafts patterned paper. I inked all the edges. I love this Feather Set Die DIE143-R.

“Hello” sentiment came from Hydrangea Clear Set CL463. I added cardstock behind the chipboard frame. The brad is from American Crafts and I tucked some twine under it and added purple pearls.

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge – Travel }

Hi and welcome to our  Impression Obsession challenge – Travel!

Our challenge starts today, June 19, and continues to the following Wednesday evening, June 25, at 10 PM.

Create a new project using  Impression Obsession stamps and post it on Impression Obsession Blog, between June 19 - 25. A winner will be chosen randomly to win a $25 gift certificate to the Impression Obsession store.

Here is my card.

I have to tell you that my card idea came from two pieces of paper, while I was looking for specific travel stickers and couldn’t find them anywhere. I loved these two pieces of patterned paper and wanted to use them on my card. Guess what? I knew I had these two Cover-a-card backgrounds and could make my own. CAC Large Dots and CAC Thick Stripes (click on photos below for links).

 

For the polka dots I used several different shades of red and pink to get the ombre effect. For the stripes I used Heidi Swap Navy ink. Love those stripes!!! I found the stickers I was looking for and added the tag and “adventure” circle sticker. The #travel flair from {A Flair For Buttons} was a perfect for the card.

The sentiment and the globe came from To Travel Is To Live stamp set.

{ Reverse Confetti June Color Challenge }

Hi and welcome to our June Color Challenge – aqua, red and yellow.

Here is my card.

I started with a yellow card base. For the arrows from Crushin’ stamp set, I drew pencil lines at an angle about half an inch apart. I used red and aqua ink and stamped the arrows, rotating some, to create a pattern. I adhered the cardstock at the same angle on the card and trimmed the edges. Pretty simple. I will do this again with another design.
The sentiment is from Petals ‘n Posies stamp set and I stamped it on a tag from Elle’s Studio. There is another die cut tag under it that was left over from another project that is colored with Gelatos. It had the same colors so it was perfect.
I had a hard time tying the twine at that angle so I used Therm O Web Zips, clear adhesive lines. Not sure if you can see it in the close up photo, but I adhered it above the white cardstock and added twine.
