{ True Love and Happy New Year }

I wanted to share with you a card I created a while ago for The Cutting Cafe. Now that Christmas is over, and the year, Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Regina has a ton of NEW, Valentine's Day, things ready for purchase. Get an early start!

I used the love birds and the heart sentiment from the All About Valentine's Day printable stamp set. I printed the birds on white cardstock first and then again on two different patterned papers. I cut them out and adhered over the original image. After I printed the heart sentiment I matted it with red cardstock and cut out.

This is so easy to do. If you have any questions or want to know how to print these images you can find out all the information under Printable stamps info. and tips.Thanks for a great year!

{ My Scrapbook Nook January kit, Project 365 - week 47 }

We are back to our regular schedule. Christmas days were filled with relaxation, food, playing with toys, reading magazines, watching TV, eating more food. I loved every moment.

My Scrapbook Nook January kit arrived the day before Christmas. I finally got to play with it last night. I just adore this Cupid Collection by Pink Paislee. I think it's the colors.

I always wanted to have a little wall hanging like this and I finally made one. All the little elements are hand cut by me. The chipboard cloud base is an album I had laying around. I made the "trees" using 1" and 3/4" circle punch and I stamped the stems.

After I adhered the paper to my chipboard base I sanded the edges and then painted all around with Bubble Gum Shimmerz and Hi Ho Silver Shimmerz Blingz. I have a bag of make-up sponge wedges to use for dabbing and painting. They are inexpensive and I can wash them out and reuse.

I used fabric glue to gather and adhere the lace trim on the bottom edge. The home sentiment is by Melissa Frances that I had sitting around waiting for a project like this.

The clouds are hand drawn and cut from patterned paper. I painted each one with Hi Ho Silver Blingz. I added Hi Ho Silver Blingz to the roof, as well. Blingz is just like Shimmerz, except they have more sparkle and are thicker than Shimmerz. That is why you can see nice, big sparkles on my project. All the little gems are from Making Memories box of gems, that comes in the kit! I love it.

Come check out the January kit. I know that this new collection is very popular. Valentines Day is coming and I hope to make some cute gifts and cards.

{ Last minute Christmas tags with Shimmerz Spritz }

Do you need a quick, last minute gift tag? Christmas is in two days!!! I have a solution. I didn't have any white tags so I made these by cutting some white cardstock, punching a hole and adding a white reinforcement label. You can find it at an office supply store.

I punched several 3/4" circles and arranged them randomly on the tags. I sprayed the tags with Olive Branch Shimmerz Spritz. Once the circles were removed I had this beautiful background. Next, I used Licorice Shimmerz Spritz to lightly spray over the tags. I embossed the bottom edge of the tags with embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I die cut stars from red felt, or you can trace a star on any shape that you like. I painted the white flowers with Mossy Stone Shimmerz paint. I added hemp cord, a little glittery pom pom and names of my friends stamped on the paper strips that I sprayed with Olive Branch Shimmerz Spritz.

Hi friends! I know my sweet girls are reading this...I hope you like them.

I ended up making these today! I did not have time to make my own marshmallows....one day. Quick and easy treat! Here is a photo from yesterday, before we went out. Thank you for all the birthday wishes. I had a great day!! Alex helped me make the cupcakes and then he was practicing blowing out the candle. His birthday is in 3 weeks!

Are you ready for Christmas! I think I am. I just need to wrap presents. Have a great day!

{ Happy Birthday and Elle's Studio }

It's my birthday today and the first day of winter! I think this card is perfect for today. I made it using Elle's Studio Vintage Moments at Christmas tags, Vintage Christmas flash card and Holiday Vintage Snowflake that I used for the flower center. The bottom of my flower is punched circles from Holiday papers. The pink snowflake paper is We R Memory Keepers and I punched the border with Martha Stewart punch.

Here is a fun little photo of us decorating Gingerbread cookie tree the other night. All Alex wanted to do was eat the cookies and the frosting. He helped me frost some yummy cupcakes last night for my birthday.

We are getting ready to go out for a nice little dinner and Prairie Lights.

{ Love tags with Shimmerz Spritz }

I know that Christmas is next week, but I wanted to make some love tags. Red is a good color and it can be used any time of the year.

For these tags I used Bed of Roses Shimmerz Spritz and Licorice Spritz. I had recently cleaned my space and found a ton of fun things to play with. I stamped the tag with Solid Florals (CL124) and VersaMark ink and then embossed the image with clear embossing powder. I stamped the background with Cover-a-Card Dots (CC003) stamp. This is where the magic begins. First I sprayed a light color coat with Bed of Roses Shimmerz Spritz. I used a towel to gently wipe the embossed areas, and the tag. I sprayed with Bed of Roses, again, and then added a light coat of Licorice Shimmerz Spritz. I wiped the embossed areas and this time I got that Licorice color in the grooves of the embossed image. I added some stamped hearts and Love sentiment, Love Seals (CL163), a blue flower from Weeds and Wildflowers (WP170) and a fabric bow with a button. Perfect gift tags for that someone special.

Did you see this????? If you would like to WIN some Shimmerz...go HERE now!

I have some last minute Christmas tags to show you and I want to make this!

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge - Valentines/Love, Project 365 - week 46 }

II was excited about this challenge because I love Valentine's Day and it was nice to create something different. When I was at JoAnns today they had all the Valentine's Day decorations out. I thought that was a little too early. They could have waited until after Christmas.

Here is a major peek at some new stamps being released at Winter CHA in January. I used Cover-a-card dots rubber stamp (CC003) to stamp a strip of white cardstock that I tucked under the punched edge. I used 2Sketches4You #41 sketch that I flipped for the card. I hope you'll take the time to visit the other designers' blogs for inspiration! Laura, Dina, Jeanne, Jenny, Kathy, Julie, Deborah and Rosemary.

***Would you like to see your card featured on the Impression Obsession blog? Email your challenge cards using Impression Obsession images to Shirley. Every week, cards will be selected to showcase on the Impression Obsession blog!!!

{ Elle's Studio gift ideas, Project 365 - week 45 }

I am not sure where this week went, but it's gone. Lots of stuff happening around here. Decorating for Christmas, shopping, going to the North Pole Express, Christmas party, hanging out with friends, trying to stay warm....Then, look what arrived!!!! A box full of goodies from Elle's Studio.
I know, I couldn't wait to get started. I didn't want to wait until the last minute so I decided to package some of my Christmas gifts...I used Gingerbread Dress-Up stamp set, Holiday Circle tags, and these beautiful Holiday papers. I stamped the gingerbread doll on kraft cardstock with black ink, stamped the dresses on Holiday papers and cut out. I packaged the little gifts in a paper bag, tied fabric ribbon and added the Holiday Circle tags. This came together so fast. Each package contains this 6 piece mini cookie cutter set. I added a flower with a brad to each doll and glitter to the bottom of the dress. I am thinking about attaching a gingerbread cookie recipe to the bag printed on Vintage Moments at Christmas tags.

Project 365 - week 45 ***I am adding my photos to my Picasa album to the right. I have taken a photo a day every day, and I have a photo of Alex for each day.

11.8 - at the park.

11.7 - I taught him to use my CD player. There is this CD that we got in a box of diapers that he loves and listens to it over and over.

He came to show me the stickers he found.

11.6 - playing outside.

11.5 - I wanted to have a photo taken of us, but he didn't want to. 11.4 - feeding ducks at the pond. 11.3 - having a snack with his friend Emma. 11.2 - Grapevine Botanical gardens taking some pumpkin photos.
