{ My Scrapbook Nook December kit, December Daily 2009 }

We took a little trip to Arizona to spend time with family over Thanksgiving. We had a great week and Alex was such a good boy. I didn't get much internet time, but I am back now.
Ali's December Daily 2009 starts tomorrow. I completed my album and hope to follow along. I used My Scrapbook Nook December kit for the cover and some of the inside pages. The circles were punched out from the glitter paper using 3/4" circle punch. The album is by American Crafts that I got last year for something different. I love it. More photos and details on the inside pages this week. I used the embellishments that I am selling in my Etsy shop for some of the pages.
I made a set of note pads for a gift. I love the black polka dot paper, ribbon, pins and buttons from the kit. I have created several of these for an auction this month for our local Early Childhood PTA. They measure 2 x 8" and perfect for a gift or to tuck in a purse. One more layout with this beautiful kit. I downloaded the snowflake template and cut it out to use on my page. The photos are of us with Alex reading The Night Before Christmas...our new holiday tradition.

If you need some Christmas card ideas come check out the Nook Christmas Card Countdown.
Come back tomorrow for some fun news, photos of the December Daily 2009 and a fun giveaway (this week)!

{ My Scrapbook Nook December ~ Making Memories Mistletoe ~ kit projects }

Here are some of the projects I created with My Scrapbook Nook December kit. Did I mention that I love this kit ? I created the card for my card class and all the details can be found here. The base is a clear/acetate sheet from Making Memories Journaling Book. I used Martha Stewart border punch for the strip of glittered paper. It's new and it comes with the matching corner punch. I found it at Michaels and used my 50% coupon.

I added little rhinestones that come in the kit, to the snowflakes on the acetate sheet. I used white puff paint on Prima letters. The flower center is painted with Elmer's glue and sprinkled with red glitter. I found this to be the easiest way to add glitter. For the layout I used the die cut paper with the black cardstock as my base. The photo is of us from last Christmas. Alex looks so little there. I can't wait to see what he does this Christmas. The round journaling note is cut from the back of Making Memories Trims & Treats package. The number is from a package of numbers from Shabby Chic...all in the kit or sold separately at the store.

I had some glitter chenille stems laying around so I used them to make "leaves" for the flower and a heart. I stitched the heart with black floss to the page.

We want you to create a Fall project to let us know what you are most thankful for. We also want you to leave a comment on this post, and let us know. Link us to your creation so we can stop by and see and tell us what Shimmerz product you used. One lucky winner will be receiving a $20 dollar shopping spree to the Shimmerz Store, so you can stock up on your favorite Shimmerz products.

DESIGN TEAM CALL!!!

ATTENTION!!! Shimmerz Paints is having a Design Team Call! Shimmerz is a cutting edge manufacturer, and looking for individuals who are not afraid to think outside of the box. Get Messy! Shimmerz is looking for artists and designers who can create a variety of projects such as layouts, cards, altered art, and whatever else you can do!

You can find all the details on Shimmerz blog.

Come and check us out. I was recently asked to join this wonderful team and I love it so much. Shimmerz is so easy and fun to work with. You have to try out!

For this layout I used rub-ons to create my own patterned paper. I have a box full of rub-ons and sometimes I don't know what to do with them. These particular rub-ons were on a sheet, 8 1/2 x 4 inches. I placed them on white cardstock and started rubbing. What is fun about these is that you can paint them with any Shimmerz color to match your layout. I know you have some. I used Royal Red and Golden Wheat Shimmerz paint and December Sky Blingz . I didn't add anything else. This is what Shimmerz and Blingz looks like. It reflects light and it shimmerz.

***I have some new things in my Etsy store, I am slowly trying to update. If there is something that you see here and like, let me know.

{ My Scrapbook Nook December kit - Making Memories Mistletoe }

December kit. What do you think? Isn't this yummy!!!! I love these colors. Making Memories Mistletoe collection papers, embellishments and ribbon, Prima flowers, alphas and bling, Shabby Chic calendar numbers. I wanted to share a layout and a card I created for the crop we had over the weekend at My Scrapbook Nook. This first one was a challenge to create a layout documenting things you love about your home. I used Creative Imaginations paper as my base. I bought it at a scrapbook convention this summer, I think. My original plan for this layout was so different, but I couldn't fit all the photos. I moved them around until this appeared. I had strips of paper laying around from my December Daily album, that I will share soon, and some scraps. I stitched them to the background. a>A card with papers from my December Daily. The background is Collage Press and Making Memories journal note from Mistletoe collection. The stamp is Hero Arts and the label I made. Would you like one? Have a great night.

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge -make a wreath }

The challenge was to make a wreath. I stamped the leaves from Fall Wreath (CL238) stamp set on patterned paper. After I cut them out I folded and shaped them a little, so they look like leaves. I added some glitter to the leaves to make them sparkle. My background stamp is Cover-a-card Large Dot stamp (CC007). I used sketch #38 from 2 Sketches 4 You. The sentiment is from Circle Greeting (CL99) stamp set. I used Lily Bee Audrey collection papers from My Scrapbook Nook November and kit. I really like this Martha Stewart glitter that I bought recently. It's really fine and it sparkles.

I hope you'll take the time to visit the other designers' blogs for inspiration! Laura, Dina, Jeanne, Jenny, Kathy, Julie, Deborah and Shirley.

***Would you like to see your card featured on the Impression Obsession blog? Email your challenge cards using Impression Obsession images to Shirley. Every week, cards will be selected to showcase on the Impression Obsession blog!!!
