{ 2 Sketches 4 You - Kazan's sketch 3 and some NEWS ! }

Here is my card for Kazan's sketch 3. I used Tinkering Ink Wild Woodland collection. Maya Road office sheers and ribbon, Prima chipboard buttons, mixture of alphas, stickers and rub-ons - SEI, Making Memories and Three Bugs In A Rug. This second card is for Sketch this: 55. Yes, everything here is American Crafts. Well, I bought a ton of stuff at the Scrapbook Convention earlier in the month and then I got some AC stuff in two different kits. My favorite, clear journaling stickers.

I have some good news to share. I was chosen to be on Embellish Online Design Team. There is a link in my sidebar for the store and the other DT members. I can't wait to get started.

How adorable is my little baby? He loves to talk when I feed him so he ends up with food all over the place.
He fell asleep in the Jumperoo, again. I think we have it figured out. We try to take him out before he passes out.
Don't forget to leave a comment for BLOG CANDY, you have until Friday.

{ Impression Obsession DT Challenge #4 and Blog Candy }

Our challenge was to use summer stamps. Today is first day of summer (June 20) and July 4th is just around the corner. I wanted to play with my new Stars and Calendar set. I made a little gift set with a card, gift bag and a pinwheel. I cut the stars out and colored them with Prismacolor pencils. For the pinwheel I stamped the background with stars and adhered it to another piece of patterned paper for contrast. The "celebrate" word came from Express Yourself set.
Check our what the other DT members crated: Tina, Laura, Julie, Deborah, and Kelli!

To win these stamps all you have to do is post a comment here and I will randomly draw a winner on Friday, June 27, at 8 pm CST. If you haven't checked out Impression Obsession stamps you really need to take a peek. Check out Summer rubber stamp supplement, Summer clear stamp supplement. I love these stars because they are versatile and can be used on variety of projects, not just July 4th celebration, and everyone needs to have a set of calendar stamps! One last thing...I have to share this photo with you. Alex got his Jumparoo today and he loves it. He figured out really quick how to jump in it. He was very entertaining. After all the photos and recordings were completed, his eyes got droopy and he fell asleep.
My friend is visiting from California...so, if you don't hear from me I will try to catch up. Have a great weekend.

One more thing. My little card that I made for Hero Arts challenge won third place, you can see it here !!!! How exciting.

{ 2 Sketches 4 You - Laura's sketch 2 }

Here is my take on Laura's sketch 2. I had to finish it today because I have something else to share with you in couple of days.
For this card I used October Afternoon, Basic Grey and Sassafras Lass patterned paper. The chipboard hearts are Heidi Swap, chipboard bird is Scenic Route. Maya Road office sheer, Prima flower, Li'l Davis Designs chipboard border, Sassafras Lass journaling spot, Impression Obsession flower border stamp. The black letters are actually glitter mini alphas by Making Memories that I found at Michaels today. If you look really close you will see stitching. Yes, I am trying to put my machine to good use.
Before I go I had to share these photos of my adorable baby boy. He is five months, if you can believe that!!!! Mommy dressed him up so daddy can take pictures. I think he likes to pose. We got him a new highchair, he looks so little in it. He definitively likes peas more than carrots.

{ CPS # 68, Hero Arts challenge and Paper Crafts Gallery Idol }

It's taking me forever to finish this post. Alex is still awake and my laptop was acting up.
Here is my card for CPS #68. I used my new papers from October Afternoon. I was able to get one of the kits from Studio Calico and one add on kit. This is my first time ordering from them and I just love everything. They have their own stamps. Don't you just love this bird? This second card I made today for a challenge on Hero Arts blog. "Now for your weekly challenge: this week we want to see what inspires YOU! Using at least one Hero Arts stamp, create a card, scrapbook page or other project and tell us what inspired it." I was inspired by the Similac envelope (in the photo - it came with a $ 5.00 coupon). I love the orange and the circles. I used all my new Hero Arts goodies that came in the mail this week. See this post for photos of my prizes. One box came with extra goodies. What a nice surprise! All the papers are Prima. One last card I will share tonight and then I am going to relax and watch TV. Jenni Bowlin patterned paper, Creative Cafe brad, Scenic Route label stickers, Sassafras Lass patterned paper, Jenni Bowling tag, Heidi Swapp orange flower, Queen & Co. black flower and Doodlebug yellow flower, K&Company sticker.
Paper Crafts Gallery Idol is back!!! It's so much fun. You can read about all the details here. For the first round all you have to do is make a friendship card and load it into the gallery here, make sure you post it under the PC Gallery Idol. Entries cannot currently be or have ever been posted in any online forum, submitted to Paper Crafts or any other magazine, created for a specific manufacturer, or entered in any other Contest. I hope you play along. You can see my card in the gallery here.

{ 2 Sketches 4 You }

Here is my card for 2 Sketches 4 You Kazan Sketch 2. The patterned paper is NEW Basic Grey Euphoria that I got at the scrapbook convention last week. I know that some people are not too crazy about it (Euphoria), but I just love all the colors. Maya Road sheer journaling tag, American Crafts thickers and the flower is cut from Prima paper.

This card is the first one I made with the paper. The butterflies are from KI Lace cardstock, it has this shimmer to it. This stamp is from Impression Obsession, Sheet Music. I love it and I didn't know I had it. I used it on the background and on the butterflies. The blue butterfly is American Crafts and Target ribbon to match. You might see a little more stitching on my cards because I finally brought my sewing machine to my room, so it is within reach.
I have to share some photos of my little man. He keeps us entertained all day with his babbles and weird sounds that he tries out. His new trick is spitting. And its fun, he just makes little spit bubbles with his lips. Yesterday he started doing it during his rice cereal feeding and today was really funny because I added carrots to his cereal. You can only imagine. Tomorrow I will wear an apron.

{ Mini albums and gifts }

I have so many new things to share, but I told you some time ago that I was working on a mini album for Alex. I got the idea from Jennifer McGuire. I saw it in Creating Keepsakes Magazine, long time ago. She posted it again on Hero Arts blog. I loved the idea and how cool it would be to have a favorite photo for each month. I have so many, but this would force me to pick just one. It is from the month he was born to his first birthday. I got Bind It All last month and it was perfect for this.
Once I designed all my pages, I cut everything out and then assembled it. I made one for my good friend Rachel who has a baby girl Mia. Very easy to do two at the same time. I gave it to her for Mother's Day. My album is a little different and bigger (than Jennifer's). I don't have all the details here with me at the moment, but if you have any questions, please let me know.
For Alex's album I used all American Crafts patterned paper from their Baby collection. The front and back covers are chipboard that I covered with patterned paper and then painted the inside. On the back of each page I stamped a journaling spot for so I can write about those favorite photos.

For Mia's album I used Pebbles Inc. patterned paper. I made a little bag to go with the album. The template came in one of Paper Crafts magazines.
I made her a set of stationary notes and a card portfolio to hold them. Very easy to make and a great gift. The idea for the notes came from Michelle Wooderson and the template for the portfolio is from Mirkwood Designs.Let me know if you have any questions.

I had so much fun at the scrapbook convention and I bought so many new things. I will share everything I made with my new goodies. I spent the day with Ember and Leslie. The sweetest girls ever!

{ 2 sketches 4 you }

So I found this new blog last night from my wonderful friend Glee. It is called 2 Sketches 4 You. Laura and Kazan will be doing weekly sketches. I was really inspired by both sketches and made two cards today.

This first one is for Kazan sketch 1. I found this paper by Creative Imaginations in my stash and I just loved the colors together. It could be a summer card, but it's still spring and I wanted to use my spring stamps from Impression Obsession. The flourishes and butterflies are from Butterfly Bliss set and the little flowers are from Branches of the Tree set and the spring stamps are Spring Seals by Tami Potter. Ribbon is from Target dollar spot.This second card is for Laura sketch 1. I used K&Company die cut mat pad paper and Websters Pages patterned paper. The polka dots across the middle is tape by Prima, I think it's super cool and wish I had more. Impression Obsession stamps: bird, flourish, sentiment and round sentiment, journaling spot. Have you been to Hero Arts blog? You should go check it out. Lots of great inspiration, videos and prizes. I won two, this one and this one. Tomorrow I am going to The Great American Scrapbook Convention and I am picking up Ember, who is in town visiting, and there we are meeting up with Leslie. I can't wait to meet them both.
