{ Document December 2020 #stayhome for the Holidays }

Stay Home For The Holidays collection by Traci Reed is perfect for what is going on currently. Even though I am not documenting December Daily activities, I am still documenting December. I decided to create a mini album made of envelopes. This is based on an album that I created a few years ago documenting out summer vacation in Florida. I loved the style of it and the ability to add multiple photos and journaling. More photos of the 2017 summer album HERE

Here is the current mini album.

The envelopes are 4-1/8 x 9-1/2 inches, also called a #10 envelope, and I used three to create this album. After sealing the envelopes, I cut both ends off (1/4″ from the end) and each is folded at 3 inches from the left, then adhered with the short 3” side to the back of the 6” side. That creates 6 different pockets, two small and two large, to tuck in photos, tags and journaling. Then I took two pieces of white cardstock, sized at 4-1/4″ x 6-1/8″, and adhered one to the front, and one to the back of the envelope stack. On the outside of the cardstock, I adhered patterned paper from the #stayhome for the Holidays collection, creating a cover and back page.

{ MemoryDex by Heidi Swapp revisited }

Hello and happy 2020!

I decided to document my daily life using MemoryDex. I have purchased the MemoryDex spinner a few years ago. I have since created several boxes with cards to use for various projects. I do have the original MemoryDex Desktop Tray Holder by Heidi Swapp. There are lots of videos on youtube on how to create one. There are various free files for the cards and there are ones you can purchase. I have all the MemoryDex dies and I have the punch. I guess I got lucky. This system has been around since 2015. I know that American Crafts produced more of the discontinued items recently. You can find some of the items on Scrapbook.com, Amazon and Heidi Swapp website

I am sharing two free files in this blog post. One is the rolodex card and it fits Heidi Swapp system and it fits paper straws (see photos below). The other one is the diamond shape I used for one of my cards created for the Instagram challenge hosted by Damaris @atstudiod and Caroline @caroline_mae_m. I will be sharing my projects on Instagram you can follow me there

Here are some of my projects using MemoryDex.

These are so easy to put together and fill with your favorite treats. I used parchemt paper to make the bags. I stitched up the sides with my sewing machine. You have seen me make bags like this before. The cute litte die cut is Patchwork Stocking and I stamped it with Mini Pattern 1 and Mini Patterns 2. I filled the bags with treats I bought at World Market, from Germany.

{ Paper Pumpkin Decoration }

I wanted to share a fun little project I created recently after I saw an adorable pumpkin that Gina created for American Crafts. I have been looking for Heidi Swapp Marquee Love Halloween Pumpkin at Michaels, but I never found one. I decided to make my own.

Paper pumpkin by Daniela Dobson

I designed the pumpkin in my Silhouette Studio and cut it out from patterned paper. I hade some Halloween paper and embellishments left over that I purchased at Emma’s Paperie last year. The “boo” and “happy Halloween” are die cuts from Impression Obsession called Boo and Happy Halloween. They are die cut from glitter paper. The little ghost is from Mini Ghosts die.
Elle’s Studio came out with Halloween Acrylics and Glitter Foam pieces that I added to the pumpkin. There is also a Halloween Digital Cut File and I was able to cut some bats from glitter paper.
Everything here is from my stash, some old and some new items. I already added it to my mantle. I am thinking about adding ribbon to the back and maybe hanging it in my dinning room.

Let me know if anyone is interested in the pumpkin silhouette file and I will share. Make sure you check out Gina’s beautiful pumpkin.

Happy birthday by Daniela Dobson

My inspiration was an older card I made using washi tape and Basic Borders 2. I started with a strip of washi tape and then the stamp and repeated the process. I created a tag for the front by tracing a tag on white cardstock and stamping the bottom portion with Greeting Banners. The sentiment is from the same set.
I die cut the Spiral Flowers Large from two different shades of cardstock. I love Therm O Web Zots  Adhesive Dots, Small,they hold these little flowers perfectly. At the end, I added a little bead to the center of each flower.
The leaf is from Hydrangea Set die cut from green cardstock. The butterfly is from Medium Butterflies die set.

{ December 25 mini album }

I create projects for Emma’s Paperie every week. We have a ton of designer inspirations on Emma’s Paperie blog. Come and check it out.

I created this little mini album using Basic Grey Evergreen Collection.You can see a full list of supplies on the blog post HERE.

December 25 mini album by Daniela Dobson

This is the same album base I used for a different project back in 2012. It’s very easy to put together and it’s a cut file by Lori Whitlock. You will need a silhouette cameo for the album.

December 25 mini album inside by Daniela Dobson

I used Celebrating December - Memory Keepers Studio - October 2014 from Technique Tuesday for the inside pages.

December 25 mini album open by Daniela Dobson

The tags tuck into the pocket and you can add your journaling on the back. I repeat my design on all the tags changing out a few bits and pieces.

I tie a ribbon around the album to keep it closed which can easily be removed to view the inside pages. You don’t even have to untie the bow. It just slips off and on.

{ Impression Obsession Design Team Thursday }

It is my turn today to share a project I made using Impression Obsession dies.  Here is what I created. My inspiration came from a printable that Jen has for a download on her blog.  I used my silhouette cameo for the words and IO dies for the rest.

Halloween clipboard art 2 by Daniela Dobson

I started with a piece of chalkboard paper. The clipboard I had for ever. Seriously. I was going to alter it at some point, but now I think I will create a peace of art for each season and just change it out.

Like I said, I cut the words using my silhouette cameo. I had some adhesive patterned paper which made the words adhere to the paper easier. There is some texture to the chalkboard paper and the letters weren’t really adhered. Once I had all the die cuts in place I added a coat of Mod Podge. That sealed everything. I used a sponge applicator to add some texture to the background with Mod Podge.

I haven’t found a permanent place for this project, but for now it is on my mantle.

Here are the dies I used.

Halloween Hill Die

Witch Flying

I created another little project two years ago using the same Halloween Hill Die. I display it every year. You can check out the details in my blog post here.

I am linking the clipboard art project to this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

Have a great Thursday!
