{ Design Team weekly inspiration }

This week's inspiration is to create a place to store your favorite recipes.
I have recipe books and a drawer stuffed with recipes cut out from magazines or written on a scrap piece of paper...There are some that I use more than others and are my favorites. Most of the time I have to hunt for them or can't find the one I want...
I had this little wooden box forever, just waiting to be altered. After I measured, it I found out that an index card (3 x 5") fits perfectly inside. I made my dividers to be slightly larger (3 x 5.5"). Make any tabs you want, after all, this is your favorite recipe box. Now, all I have to do is write my favorite recipes (the ones I use over and over) and keep them all in this box.
This would be a perfect Christmas gift for someone f you play along, upload your creations to the Design Team Weekly Inspiration gallery or post a link to your blog.
Supplies used: Tinkering Ink patterned paper from Beloved collection, 7gypsies stamp, American Crafts alphas.

{ Cosmo Cricket Biography 101 Album }

Cosmo Cricket is our DT sponsor this month at Create My Keepsake. I received this wonderful album, Biography 101 and Little Boys paper collection. How perfect to start an album for my little boy. This album is going to contain all major milestones and I am calling it "A book of firsts". This required some planning, but once I got my page designs it was easier than I thought. I have three basic layouts and I made sure I had spots for horizontal and vertical photos. Once the baby is here and I have all those photos at least I will have one completed projects and all I have to do is add photos. I have a plan for another little album project and this album is going to record things by months. I took an online class at Srap-A-Faire called All about baby by Janna Wilson and she presented a simple layout album that can be completed in advance.
All the photos are small because I have 20 pages, but you can click on each one for a closer look.

{ CPS sketch #36 }

I made this card for CPS sketch #36. I used my new The Rockstar stack from DCWV and some Rock Diva rhinestones. You can't tell in the photo, but they are pink.

I just love this adorable paper from Nana's Kids paper stack. Little chipboard embellishments and alphas come all together in a cute box. I made this card for card a day sketch challenge. By the time I am done with the challenge I will have 13 cards!!! How cool is that.

This last little one is my DT work for Create My Keepsake. Dream Street papers. I added some rub-ons from Creative Imaginations and Offray ribbon.

***Heike - the stitches on this card are from DCWV. You can see them here.

{ Wishing On A Star }

I made this album for Create My Keepsakes with Dream Street chipboard album and patterned papers, Nancy collection. Dream Street is out sponsor this month. Come check out our DT gallery. We have Dream Street contest going on for a wonderful prize pack.
This paper is so elegant and I knew I wanted to use my wedding photos for this album. I added some chipboard silver stars, stamps and some jewels. I printed the poem on self-adhesive clear matte appliqué film and cut it out to fit my pages. To hold the album together I used silver rings that I added some ribbon to. We got married August 4, 2005. Maui, Hawaii.

{ Creative Imaginations }

Design Team sponsor this month at Create My Keepsake is Creative Imaginations. I got to play with Samantha Walker Day by Day collection and Bare Elements wood blocks. I made a desk calendar. I used Sizzix 1.5" square die to cut all the squares and Mod Podge to adhere everything to the blocks. This was a fast project that required a little planning for the squares. I will be using this little calendar on my desk.
There is a Creative Imaginations contest going on that you can read about here.
We will be chatting live with Christine Adolph on September 6th at 8:00 p.m. CST in our chat room and you are invited to join us! For complete chat event details just click here.

{ Weekly challenge }

My turn to do a challenge at Create My Keepsake. Make a set of cards with unique closures. I love it because my cards open and close the usual way :) All the patterned paper is Paper Salon from All Stitched up collection.
This first one is a gatefold card. I added some eyelets and ribbon to close this little card. I used SU slit punch for my scallops.
This one is same as above except it's horizontal and I used some round foam adhesive under the buttons so I can wrap fibers for this type of closure. Top flat on this one.

On this one I just wrapped ribbon around it. Pretty simple.

If you want to play just post in our gallery here or post a link to your blog.
