{ July kit from Scraptastic Club and a freebie }

Hi and welcome to my blog. My friend Victoria is doing The Cut File Challenge series on her YouTube channel and I offered to make some cut files for her. We thought doilies were pretty popular so I made a bunch. You can download the cut file below.
Since I test cut several and had them laying around I thought I would create a layout using my July Me Myself and I kit and add-on from Scraptastic Club. I created this layout based on a sketch by Ashley Horton. She is doing a video series with Missy Whidden Stretch Your Sketch.

I used two of the similar doilies. It is so fun creating these, the combinations are endless. The messy circles I had laying around, as well, and they are an old freebie I had and you can find it HERE ---> Hand drawn circles. I really loved the stamp set from June that had the “sidewalk masterpiece” stamp and I had to use it with these photos. I added enamel dots from my stash and splattered some white paint on the layout. I added some 3D foam squares from Therm O Web to the photos for dimension.

{ Scraptastic Kit Club Thursday Challenge }

Hi everyone, I have my weekly Thursday challenge on Scraptastic blog today.  I sew on some of my layouts, but not often enough. I mostly machine stitch on my cards. I challenged myself, and now I challenge you to use your sewing machine and add some stitching to your project. If you don't have a sewing machine you can easily add stitching using a needle and some thread. I like to use DMC floss (embroidery thread) and a needle that is a little bigger, made just for the floss.  Make sure you poke holes in the paper first.
Here is a layout I created using our June 2016 Wipeout kit and add on. I sketched a circle with a pencil first and then used my sewing machine and followed the lines. I can't remember the last time a stitched a circle, so this was another challenge for me. Plus, I used blue thread.

You can see that I left some of the pencil on the cardstock. I am ok with that. I added die cut stars, star stickers and enamel dots to the stitched circle. I stamped the title with June 2016 Sweet Jane stamp set.

I even added some zig zag stitching to connect two different papers together. I used a border punch to add the scallops to my patterned paper. I sprinkled some color shine from my stash.

{ June 2016 Card Kit from Scraptastic Club }

I am sharing my cards from June 2016 Card Kit.

My first one is pretty simple with two strips of patterned paper and a die cut popsicle adhered with 3D foam adhesive. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set and drew a black line all around the card. I added washi tape from my stash that matches this kit perfectly.

You deserve a treat by Daniela Dobson

For my second card I did some stamping and heat embossing. I used watercolor to color one of the ice cream cones and stamped the second one with pink ink.

My last card uses die cut stars from the kit. I added two different stricker strips that came in the kit and a patterned paper strip to add to a die cut piece of patterned paper. Twine and sequins are from my stash.

{ June Wipeout kit from Scraptastic Club }

I am sharing my first layout with June 2016 Wipeout kit, add-on and June 2016 Wipeout stamp set on Scraptastic blog today.

Swim by Daniela Dobson

This is such a fun and colorful kit. I wanted to use that "swim" cut out and I had perfect photos to match. I used the Bits & Pieces pack along with the puffy stickers from Elle's Studio to create a little collection of bits at the bottom, under the photos. I used the stamp set to add the chevron arrows and I stamped "water play" with black ink. The "splash" flair fit perfectly with my photos. The last thing I did was add Whipped Spackle with a wave stencil and navy splatters (color shine from my stash).

{ Sketchy Thursday with May Cake by the Ocean kit from Scraptastic Club }

I am sharing a layout I created with our June sketch using May 2016 Cake by the Ocean kit, add-on on Scraptastic blog today.

Happy day by Daniela Dobson

I pretty much followed the sketch with strips of paper behind my small photo. I duplicated the flower clusters with round embellishments. I added color shine sprinkles and washi from my stash, and enamel dots from a previous kit.

Here is one more layout with May kit.

Most favorite by Daniela Dobson

For this one I used modeling paste and the stencil that came in the kit. I used just a little of patterned paper behind the photos since I wanted those vellum shapes to stand out.

{ May Cake by the Ocean kit from Scraptastic Club }

I am sharing my first layout with May 2016 Cake by the Ocean kit, add-on and Cake by the Ocean stamp set on Scraptastic blog today. Just a little mixed media with all the wonderful colors and elements from the kit.

Capture true life by Daniela Dobson

I love all the colors in the kit. To tone down the background just a bit, I added some white gesso and then some pink and blue color shine from my stash. I stamped and cut out the flowers and the leaves from the stamp set. I added some stitching to the layout and some yellow sewing thread from my stash under the flair. I thought this photo went perfectly with the kit with all the wonderful and bright colors.

{ May 2016 Card Kit from Scraptastic Club }

I am sharing my cards from May 2016 card kit

For this first card I used a mask that came in the kit and distress ink with a sponge dauber. I positioned the mask on white cardstock and applied ink, little darker on the edges and lighter in the center. I added the leaves the same way positioning the mask so the leaves and the flowers covered the front. I stamped "Hello Friends" on the bottom with black ink.

Hello friend flowers by Daniela Dobson

I stamped the dog from the stamp set on watercolor paper and colored him with watercolor paints. I layered patterned paper, borders from sticker sheets and die cuts. I fussy cut the dog and added him with 3D foam adhesive from Therm O Web.  I stamped flower and leaves on white cardstock and cut them out. I added some 3D foam adhesive to the flower, as well. I splattered white paint to the background.

Hello friend by Daniela Dobson

For my last card, I used the glitter card base and added patterned paper. I layered the circle die cut and the dimensional sticker from Fancy Free Layered stickers. This one is really simple and easy to put together, especially with the sentiment already on the layered sticker.

Hello there by Daniela Dobson

I will be sharing my layouts with Cake by the Ocean May kit soon. Did you see June 2016 kits?

{ April 2016 Card Kit from Scraptastic Club }

Hello. Today I am sharing my first three cards with our April 2016 card kit. The exclusive stamp set that comes in this kit is super adorable. I stamped one of the tea cups on watercolor paper and colored it with watercolor. I cut it out and adhered it to the card using foam adhesive. How adorable are those Tea Tag die cuts? This one says “miss you”. I added white twine to it and it really looks like a tea bag.  I exclusive stickers in the corner, sequins and some more stamping on the card.

Miss you by Daniela Dobson

For my second card I used the heart stencil that came in the kit and used modeling paste to add hearts to the front of the card. I wrapped yellow twine several times around the front and tied it into a bow. I added a little tea tag die cut. Thank you sticker is adhered to the card with foam adhesive.

Thank you by Daniela Dobson
For my last card I really liked that plus sign patterned paper that is in the kit. I used that as my base. I added several strips of patterned paper to the top with a sentiment sticker under it. I wrapped the twine several times around the card front and tied it into a bow. I added a flower sticker and sequins to the top border. I colored in come of the plus signs with yellow watercolor to make them pop.

That is all from me today. Have a great Monday!

{ March 2016 Card Kit from Scraptastic Club–part 2 }

Hi! I have two more cards I created with the March card kit while I am waiting for the new one to arrive any day now. I have been using stencils on my cards quite often and I have recently moved them really close to my work area so that I can just open a drawer and they are all there. No more searching around for them. In addition, I keep my Whipped Spackle (my favorite modeling paste) near by, as well.

For this card I applied Liquitex Clear Gesso to the background. This provides the perfect "tooth" to the area, in this case, patterned paper. Once you add other mediums, like watercolor, it will not absorb into the paper. It stays on top and keeps it bright. Plus, it doesn’t soak through the paper. What I have at home is Liquitex Clear Gesso that I got at my local craft store. I applied Whipped Spackle using the triangle stencil that came in my March Drops Of Jupiter Kit.

Hello  by Daniela Dobson

For the second card I just layered the bits and pieces on top of patterned paper and added some stamped stripes from the stamp set. I sprinkled some color shine from my stash.

{ March 2016 Drops Of Jupiter kit from Scraptastic Club }

Good morning. I wanted to share my other three layouts that I created with March 2016 Drops Of Jupiter kit and add-on. I shared my first one earlier this month.

For this layout I used an older photo that I found recently. It’s from 2011 of Alex in the back yard chasing bubbles. I added some gold foiled paper and cut files from my stash.

For this layout I used the triangle mask in the kit and added some stamping from Drops Of Jupiter stamp set.

For the last layout I added some gesso to the patterned paper background, to tone it down. Then I added whipped spackle through the mask.

{ March 2016 Card Kit from Scraptastic Club }

Good morning. I have a blog post on Scraptastic Blog sharing the cards I created with the brand new March 2016 Card Kit. I paired the kit with super fun DecoFoil from Therm O Web.

For the first card I used several different elements from the kit and added some twine from my stash. I love all the gold and shiny elements in this kit that I decided to add my own touches of gold with gold Deco Foil and Deco Foil Adhesive. In this card I applied the adhesive to the chevrons.

Hello by Daniela Dobson

For my second card I used one of the exclusive sentiment stickers that I adhered to the tag and folded over the edges. I tucked some pink thread under the heart. I added gold foil around the edges and at the bottom of photo frame.

Thank you by Daniela Dobson

For my last card I used the exclusive stamp set that I heat embossed on the black tag that was in the ephemera pack. I used the “x” in the stamp set and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I layered several of the elements from the kit under the tag. The pink sticker tag I cut in half and tucked it under both sides of the tag. The stickers are from the March 2016 Card Subscriber Extra Stickers.

You are amazing by Daniela Dobson
