{ Layered butterfly freebie }

I know totally random post today since I am sharing a freebie. Didn’t quite make the Card Kit Monday, even though I am thinking about it. I was sharing files every Monday and making a card with them and sometimes I even had a video. There were lots of downloads, but I have never seen anyone make anything with them. I am still thinking about sharing free files, I have lots of them.

Today I am sharing a card I created using Silhouette Studio files that I designed. I was cleaning my studio yesterday and placed a stack of layouts (40) in an album. One of them had these cute layered butterflies from Crate Paper, Notes and Things. I decided to make my own. I used a freebie butterfly I already had that I created last year and used on a card I created for Card Kit Monday. I changed this butterfly a little bit by adding a center piece. I layered all three and used my sewing machine for the center. The exact size of the butterflies: L 2.25 M 1.625 S 1.25 You can make them any size that you need.

I used Fab Friday 87 for the sketch and The Challenge #73 for the colors. The diagonal stripe background was cut from white cardstock and for the insert from a different card background. I have been seeing diagonal lines like this on various cards and I like it.  I added some whipped spackle  to the background and watercolor paint. I added a vellum frame and a strip of polka dot vellum as a banner for the House of Cards challenge. For the hand drawn circle I have several different ones here and here. Make sure you visit the FREEBIES page and download what you like. I cut “hello” from black and white cardstock and layered them with a little offset. It’s my own handwriting.

{ New Card Kit Monday – Acorns and Tags }

Hi and happy Monday. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to do a Fall/November card or Winter/December card. Since it’s still November for a while I thought I would go with that. It’s super dark outside, it’s raining, and the photos are the way they are.

Here is my card. I fell in love with Acorns after seeing some fun crafts on Pinterest. I made several for a project I did for Therm O Web. I don’t have any stamps so here is how I made mine.

The acorns are in several layers so that you have that white border after stamping the main pieces. I planned on doing a video on how I did this and I didn’t. If anyone would like to see how these come together, let me know. I used Impression Obsession stamps for the acorn (Scallop Bunting Set and Card Screen) and the tag (Wood Grain). “Be Grateful” is from Be Grateful stamp set.

{ Card Kit Monday – Tags and Branches – take 3 }

Hello and happy Monday. I have a new card today using the Tags and Branches Card Kit Monday kit. I saw this awesome challenge on Always Plying With Paper and thought I would use the same colors to make a Holiday card.

I made the chevron card background really large, to fit the card front. The banner is cut out from white cardstock. I skipped the heart tag and added the flowers. It’s another freebie I shared a while ago Layered Flowers. I cut the three flower layers from different cardstock and patterned paper. I added some Heidi Swapp color shine and some sequins.

That silver wasn’t showing up that well, so here is one more photo. I love the gold from this pack as, as well. The cardstock is super thick and smooth and my Silhouette Cameo loves it. Its DCWV pack that I got at Michaels, I think. The sentiment is from brand new stamp set from Technique Tuesday called Poinsettia Wishes.

{ Thanks card and treat bag for Therm O Web }

{ Card Kit Monday–Tags and Branches–take 2 and a video }

Hello and happy Tuesday! As you can see, I have lots of Card Kit Mondays on a Tuesday. Yesterday was my catch up day. Alex was sick last week with a very high, asymptomatic fever. All the tests they could run at the office were negative. Luckily it went away after three full days. I don’t like it when he is sick, but I do like all our time together, snuggling, reading, watching TV and just hanging out. Who doesn’t. Everything else becomes less important.

I have to share some exciting news!! I was asked to join Scraptastic Kit Club! I will share my awesome kit that arrived yesterday and lots of projects that I make on my blog.

My card for today is full of layers and goodies. Watch the video. I am just so indecisive. I had no plan for the card at all.

Can you see all the layers? I just love playing around with all the stamps, mixed media, glitter, sequins and  mist. All the patterned papers are from Crate Paper that I got from Emma’s Paperie. Photo corners and all my adhesive is from Therm O Web. The stamps are from Impression Obsession.

{ New Card Kit Monday–Tags and Branches }

Hello and happy Tuesday. I have a brand new kit for you today! This is a card kit, but you can use it on a layout or any other project you choose. The files can be made bigger or smaller as needed. This is a fun card. I am not sure how everyone is using the Card Kit elements, but sometimes I just use the kit and other times I add other bits and pieces.

Here is my card for today.

I just love to incorporate my little bits and pieces and stamps. This time I even added some Flower Soft to the heart. I have used this technique before with the same heart tag. iCraft from Therm O Web works great with this technique. If you don’t have Flower Soft you can use glitter.

The branches are fun, too. They can be used with the flowers that were in Card Kit Monday Banners. I addition, I have some Layered Flowers that can be used, as well.
The stamps are from Impression Obsession: Thank you and French Word Background.

I have some other fun ideas for this kit.

{ Card kit Monday–Frames and Leaves–take 3 and a video }

Hi and happy Monday. I have a new card using Card Kit Monday Frames and Leaves. I used a brand new collection from Elle’s Studio – Thankful, again. Don’t forget to check out the brand new October kit.

In addition, I am sharing a project on Elle’s Studio blog today inspired by our new Mini Kit course. I would love it if you check it our.

Here is my card using only leaves from Card Kit Monday Frames and Leaves.

I made this card using a sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge #291 and used only the leaves from the kit. I used the sketch feature on my Silhouette Cameo. I have Designer Edition and I am not sure if it is available in regular software. I love it. You can change the sketch settings and fill settings. I really liked the squares. My original plan was to leave the leaves on the paper, but then I ended up cutting them. I used watercolor paper and a black sketch pen from Silhouette. I have a set of 8 colors that I purchased long time ago. I did flip the watercolor paper over to the smooth side for the sketch. I will try the rough side next time as the smooth side was not absorbing the water well.

Hi and happy Tuesday. I have a new card using Card Kit Monday from last week. I used a brand new collection from Elle’s Studio – Thankful. Don’t forget to check out the brand new October kit.

I used the frame, circle and both leaves. I layered some of the journaling tags and a gold label from Crate Paper. The “Thank” is a stamp from Thankful Stamp and “you” from Jordan Alphabet Stamp. I machine stitched the leaves and the front of the card in places. I tucked in some gold enamel dots and some black Color Shine.

{ Card kit Monday–Frames and Leaves }

Here is what I created today.

I wanted to do a heat embossed background with watercolor for this card.  I stamped Mosaic Tile and heat embossed it on watercolor paper. You can see my other example in this card HERE. I used the “thanks” frame and leaves only. There are so many possibilities with this kit. I will show you something different next week. I cut two leaves out of vellum and one out of cardstock. I added stitching to the card and leaves. I used my watercolor crayons for the background. Love them. They are so vibrant!

{ Card kit Monday–Circles and Triangles–take 2 }

Hi and happy Monday. I have a new card using the brand new Card kit Monday from last week. You can still see the one I made last week { Card kit Monday–Circles and Triangles }.

How about this color combination? It came from Color Throwdown #361. In addition, I used a sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 288. To make the card fit the sketch I had to add a tag. This kit doesn’t have a tag, but if you check out my freebies you will find lots of free stuff there. I used a tag from Bread Tag freebie and I have some more in Pocket with tags freebie. A little flower with a button and some twine. Perfect little card.

When I am getting ready to cut my pieces I usually arrange everything in my Silhouette Studio. As you can see in the photo, I even color all the pieces so I know what colors I need to cut. I import the photo into the program and use my dropper tool to add the custom color. This card came together in less than 10 minutes. I hope you create something with this kit.

Color Throwdown #361

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 288

{ Card kit Monday–Circles and Triangles }

Hello and happy Monday! I have a brand new kit for you today! I planned on doing a video, but after I cut all the pieces, I totally forgot. So no video this time. When I make my “take 2” version I will film a video. This is a card kit, but you can use it on a layout or any other project you choose. The files can be made bigger or smaller as needed.

Here is what I created today.

This kit comes with two circles and three circles. You can size them to whatever size you want. For this card I cut several different sized of each and ended up using 3 total. I like to cut things from white cardstock since I can change it to any color I want. For the yellow one I used color shine and the black one is cut from cardstock.
The tag I colored with yellow watercolor crayon and stamped the sentiment from Technique Tuesday Thank you stamp set.  I added a little sewing thread to the mix and a vellum butterfly that I had laying around. You could easily cut a butterfly from Just For Your card kit.
This is super easy to play with and it came together really fast.

{ Card kit Monday–Just for you - take 2 }

Hi and happy Monday. I have a new card using the brand new Card kit Monday from last week. Last week I included a process video on how I created the card. Did you know that I have a YouTube Channel? You can follow me there.

I kept all the elements except the print and cut sentiment. I stamped the sentiment on the print and cut tag. The stamp set if from Technique Tuesday.  I trimmed some of the oval since I used a sketch from Fusion challenge and it fit better that way. I added some modeling paste with a stencil to the card base and a brad to the butterfly. Pretty simple and fast.

{ Card kit Monday–Just for you }

Hello. I have a brand new kit for you today, with a card and a video process (at the end of this post). I have two print and cut elements in this kit. The tag and “just for you” banner. If you don’t use print and cut feature you will just get the shapes of the tags. I will link a print and cut tutorial below that I found helpful. I printed the tag in black, but you can change it to any color you need. Same goes for the sentiment.

This card is based on one of my old cards that I created. The four harts I created several years ago and it’s free on my freebies and I am including it again in this set.

I used Color Throwdown #357 for this card.
