Today is World Card Making Day and it’s a holiday created by card makers for card makers. It started off years ago as a a day to kick off the busy holiday card making season, but it's become a day in recent years to celebrate making all kinds of cards. I hope you are having an amazing and creative day. Here is a card I created using Thankful Thoughts stamp set.

I distressed the background with white gesso and color shine. I stamped and heat embossed the wreath with gold embossing powder and stamped the sentiment and the flowers with black ink.

I used papers and embellishments from my stash that are a little older, but I still love them. I machine stitched the edges with black thread.

It started off years ago as a a day to kick off the busy holiday card making season, but it's become a day in recent years to celebrate making all kinds of cards. Here is a card I created for this special day using Technique Tuesday dies.

I created this card using a triangle silhouette cut file from Card Kit Monday. On top of that I layered  the Hello Butterfly, This Tag, Label and Say It - Hello steel dies. I used washi tape, twine and sequins to finish  the card.

{ World Card Making Day 2013 }

Happy World Card Making Day!! I hope your day is filled with creative endeavors. Check out Paper Crafts blog tour for World Card Making Day celebrations and a list of blogs participating this year.

For this card I used brand new, Technique Tuesday, Magic Circle Die Steel Die. First I cut a base using Story Card Steel Die. That is just a standard 3x4 card with rounded corners. Love it. I painted it with chalk paint, you can still see the strokes because I wanted it to  be imperfect. Then the layer over that is Magic Circle die cut. I stamped “Thank you for being” from Incredible by Ali Edwards, in gold ink, and then die cut the word “fabulous” using Say It – Fabulous Steel Die.

All the card edges are painted with cream paint and so is the die cut word. I added a flair from a {A Flair For Buttons} and adhered it to the hemp bow.  If you like {A Flair For Buttons} they are having a blog hop today and a special coupon code for 10% off on all orders thorough Monday. { Orange Blog Hop and World Card Making Day }

Hi, Daniela Dobson here, and welcome to my blog.  If you came from --  Cindy deRosie -- you are in the right place.  This is a stop on the Orange Blog Hop, where members of Fiskateers community, sponsored by Fiskars, are sharing their passion for crafting.

Here is my card.
 I used Fiskars Texture plate to emboss the card front. I placed my card over the texture plate and used my stylus to emboss. I used Clearsnap Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink: Toffee to go over the embossed area.

I used Clearsnap Molding Mat: Moorish Tiles and Clearsnap ColorBox Pigment Ink: Cocoa for the large butterfly. I layered the smaller one over the top. That one is stamped with Clearsnap Rollagraph Stamp Wheel: Music Notes and Clearsnap ColorBox Premium Dye Ink: Strawberry. I added a little wood button and some twine. 

The stamped sentiment is from Hampton Art and is stamped with Clearsnap ColorBox Pigment Ink: Cocoa.

Here is a close up of the Texture Plate. I have had them for a really loooong time. I recently used the other side of this pattern, which is straight lines, on a layout.

I like this one, it reminds me of a chevron pattern.

I created these cards especially for today. I used CupCards {to go} card kits: July - Sweet Treats and May - Painted Lady. I painted some beautiful Golden Wheat Shimmerz on the flower.
