{ Gift ideas using Therm O Web and a freebie file }

I am sharing a cute gift idea for that someone special in your life. Mother’s Day is coming up, Teacher’s  and Nurse’s appreciation is next week. Step by step instructions are on Therm O Web blog today. I designed the box for two cups to fit. You can download the file at the bottom of this post.

This contains a box and a liner that you adhere to the bottom. Patterned paper panels for the box sides and a handle that you adhere together to the folded lines and the adhere the flaps to the inside of the box. Here is my card.

I was thinking of Alex when making this card. He is in first grade and school is almost over. We tell him all the time how proud we are of him, but I thought a card would be nice, too. His favorite color is red, and so are his school colors, but I didn’t want the whole card to be red.
The background is embossed with polka dots. Finally got out one of my old embossing folders and this Core’dinations Whitewash cardstock collection. You sand it after it’s embossed to reveal the core color.
 
The bottom is lined with washi and then I added Fir Tree Border and Rectangle 6-in-1 Frames as a border. The Clouds are cut from white cardstock and I added 3D foam Adhesive from Therm O Web to the Plane with Banner. The sentiment is from Life Stuff Sentiments stamp set and is one of my favorites.

{ April 2015 Memory Keepers Studio by Technique Tuesday }

Hello, I have several different projects to share. It’s been busy around here with school and Spring weather. I am participating in several different challenges (more about that at another time), that are just for me, and I am enjoying the process.

Here is a little layout I created using April 2015 Memory Keepers Studio Say It – Remember. I love mixing stamps with other little word embellishments.

I am using new Elle’s Studio Cienna collection. The paper with the diamonds is my favorite. I love coloring them. I used watercolor pencils on this layout. I was excited to use the rain drops from Pink Paislee that I got long time ago. Perfect for this photo.

I cut one of the journaling tags to make it appear longer than it is. I stamped three different phrases below the photo. The American Crafts thickers are being used for the very first time.

Since I have been playing around with lots of mixed media for my Documented Life Journals, I love how some things are discovered. Gelatos didn’t work so well on this watercolor paper, but my watercolor crayons did the trick. They are so vibrant. I love them. They are Caran d'Ache Classic Neocolor II. I scribbled three different colors and sprayed with water until they started running down. I added some modeling paste through a stencil and stamped some lines and circles. I die cut the leaves from yellow and white vellum. The sentiment is stamped on white cardstock and cut out.
