{ Time to vote !!! }

Make sure you check out Paper Crafts Gallery Idol (Round 1)!!! Here are the rules:
Voting for “Round 1: Thanks Cards” begins at noon (MST) on Monday, April 30. This is open to ALL online viewers and designers. Everyone will have until noon (MST) on Thursday, May 3 to cast your vote for your favorite designer. (You may only vote once. All duplicate votes received from the same computer will automatically be removed.) The top 15 finalists will be announced on Friday, May 4, and given a theme for the next round.
Here is my card. Designed and created in my hotel room, photographed in a chair by the window on a cloudy day. I was lucky I had two pages of white cardstock for the background because the chair was not pretty. I am home now after a long day of traveling and waiting for luggage. Going to bed. Have a great Monday!

{ Splitcoast challenge }

I made this card for the card sketch challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.
I found the card set at Target earlier in the week. I wanted to use it because I like the colors, but the card was too big. I cut about 1/4" from the top and bottom. The girl is from Inkadinkado stamp set. When I get home I will have to take a photo of the stamp set so you can see because they don't have it on their site. I used SU ink and markers. The sentiment stamp is from Michael's.
The oval came from the set as well, but it was too big, so I cut the outer black border. Have a great night.

{ Gallery Idol Finalist !!! }

The announcement was made today and I made the TOP 20 of Gallery Idol at Paper Crafts with so many other talented ladies, including some of my buddies from CMK. This is the card that got picked and I am so glad I made it last minute. I was leaving for PA the next day and came up with this idea for a card. The box from Paper Posies came with this cute American Crafts Paper. I made the butterfly with photo corners from Li'l Davis Designs. Painted them with Making Memories paint and added some brads for the body. I was playing around with the photo corners to use them as a design element on a page I was working on for IMCK DT and they turned into a butterfly. I have been in love with scalloped edge paper lately and I didn't have any. I have a Fiskars shape template that has that scalloped border and I just traced it on my card with a pencil and cut out.

The Gallery Idol continues with round 1 where we have to make a "Thanks" card by April 30, Monday. At noon that day first round of voting starts and based on the vote the top 15 will advance to round 2. So check it out and come and vote on Monday ROUND 1 I am really nervous since I am still here in Chambersburg, PA until Sunday night. I hope the sun comes out tomorrow for a great photo. I brought limited supplies with me to work on some other submissions that are due at the end of the month. I hope I have everything I need. There is a scrapbook store near by that I can go and visit :)

I wanted to thanks Lori W. for leaving a comment about the Offray Ribbon Outlet in Hagerstown. I will be going there today to check it out. I am waiting for my husband to get off work so we can go. I didn't feel like getting out of bed early this morning so he has the car. I slept through breakfast and all I have here are Twizzlers until dinner. First, I am going to the ribbon store and then dinner. Wow this is the longest post I ever made and I wanted to post another card for Splitcoast Card sketch challenge. I will do that later.

Now that I have more people stopping by I would love to give away some BLOG CANDY.

{ Goodies from Target }

Well, since I am visiting Chambersburg, PA I thought I would check the local shopping spots. Michael's didn't have any clear stamps, that's probably because I bought them all last time I was here. They are making room for new Martha Stewart stuff, arriving April 29th (to that store). Target had lots of sweet goodies in their dollar bin. These two small buckets come together, it's part of their wedding collection. Then they have these card kits that contain two cards and two envelopes with embellishments and ribbon. I thought it was a pretty good deal for one dollar. Autumn Leaves stamps were just $9.98 and I had to have them. Then they have these little totes. Not sure what I am going to use them for, but they were so adorable. They come in different colors. Maybe tomorrow I can go check out AC Moore, I hear they have all new stuff, too.
Here is a photo of a beautiful house I found on my drive to downtown Chambersburg.

{ Weekly challenge }

It was my turn to do this week's challenge at CMK. Cut imperfect shapes to make a cute card (or layout). For this little card I cut out three circles (freehand), adhered them togehter and then I cut out wedges in the circles for petals. Fast and easy. This cute paper by Heidi Grace Designs and Creative Imaginations I got this weekend at a very cool scrapbook store in Hershey, PA. I will post that info tomorrow.
If you want to play post your creation in our gallery or link me to your blog.

{ Cherry Blossoms and Fancy Pants Designs}

Do you want to know what these two have in common. Well, Inspire Me Card Kits is featuring Fancy Pants Designs for this month's kit. The colors are so bright and beautiful. The picture I used on this layout was from the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC couple of weeks ago. I snapped these photos outside our hotel room today. Surprised to still see blooms. This is my third time visiting Chambersburg, PA and the sun was finally out. I think spring might be here. I hope you have a great and warm weekend.

{ Die Cuts With a View }

Did I mention that I got a huge box of goodies earlier this week from DCWV. The box was so heavy that I had to open it outside and bring stuff in.

Here is a card I made with these wonderful goodies.

{ April PageMaps}

I did a layout for Becky Fleck PageMaps. It's up now on her webpage and in the April newsletter. I had so much fun designing from her sketch. On this layout I used Bazzill Bling cardstock, Upsy Daisy Designs patterned paper, BasicGrey rub-on, Scenic Route chipboard, 7gypsies stamp.
My sweet husband took these photos on our trip to Croatia last summer.
