{ School inspired layout–Technique Tuesday }

I have a layout on Technique Tuesday blog today, along with some other DT members. The challenge was to use some kind of office/school supply on a layout or a card. Here is my layout and I used a tag, staples and paperclips.

For the background stamping I used Big Timber Outline Lowercase and Big Timber Lowercase stamp sets. I added gesso to the patterned paper background to tone it down a bit and for the letters to stand out.

I inked the full stamp set while still on the sheet and used it as a stamping block. That particular set was still new, and the stamps in their original places. I used the matching stamp set to stamp over some of the letters.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

On another note, my Etsy shop is open again if you would like to take a look. Have a great Thursday!

{ Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge No. 21 }

 Sarah posted a beautiful card for the sketch challenge and I loved it so much I had to make a card.

I had some extra Summer mini kits left over from my Etsy store and the little bag was perfect for the sketch. I used October Afternoon patterned paper for the card base. I added the crepe paper ruffle that I sprayed with Glimmer Mist. The bag is stamped with Impression Obsession stamp Silhouette 11 and Hampton Art stamps. I punched Prima Marketing paper with Martha Stewart punch and added a little jewel from Kaiser Craft.
The tag on the inside is stamped with the same Silhouette 11 stamp. I tied ribbon to the top that I got at JoAnns. The little bags are from Michaels and they are perfect for these tags. The tag can be used for another card or a gift.

 I wanted to share a photo of Alex eating the Halloween cupcakes he helped me make last night.

Happy Halloween!

{ Digital stamps and new Cricut }

Kathy Martin asked me to make a card with one of her new digital stamps Party Banner.  Check out her blog for more wonderful ideas using this stamp.  I used October Afternoon and My Mind's Eye patterned paper. The chipboard is painted with white paint and sprayed with Shimmerz Spritz. Here is a closer look at the banner.

I made my first official card using my new Cricut Expression! There are so many things I have to learn. If you have a Cricut and have any tips I would love to hear them. Link me to some Cricut resources and blogs I can check out.
I am making cute little Easter bags for Alex and his friends that I will show you as soon as I get a photo. Here, I am cutting grass for the eggs.

As I was getting ready to list this Life Mini album in my Etsy store I got a request to make one...perfect timing. I had several other people asking about it. If you would like one, email me and I will be more than happy to make one for you. I updated the store with some new items and I will be adding more.

{ My Etsy, Impression Obsession New Stamps - CHA sneak peek, Project 365 - week 29 }

I made my fist sale last week!!! I was so excited! One big thank you goes out to my sweet customer in Somerville! My store (right side bar) is still new and I will add more stuff as time goes by. If there is anything that you see and want, and it's not in the store, let me know.

I was frantically working late into the night on some cards that needed to go out ASAP. The cards are on their way to CHA, now, but I packed them up and shipped them. After they were gone I remembered that I didn't take photos of the last three cards. I was so bummed. Thanks to my friends at Impression Obsession I am able to show them, well, one for now. I stamped Tall Trees (F2343) on patterned paper and cut them out. The background is stamped with our NEW Cover-a-Card™ stamp, Tapestry (CC025). There are 26 backgrounds to choose from. The Clingable™ stamp measures 5.75" x 5.75". It covers an entire A2 card, horizontally and vertically. I used VersaMark and Iridescent embossing powder for the background. The sentiment is from Christmas Sentiments set (CL44).

The new stamps will be available August 1.

Project 365 - week 29.

7.13 - here is Alex after his bath, playing with flash cards. He recognizes most of the "first words" cards. When you ask him he will point to the right card. 7.14 - this was day #7 with temperature over 100. Most of this week was spent indoors. We did go out to splash in the water, but only around 7pm. 7.15 - funny thing, as I look at these photos...Alex spends most of his time in pajamas around the house! He found my wallet and was ready to shop for some clothes, other than pajamas.7.16 - getting ready to go to the doctor, daddy was not feeling well. Alex wants to brush his (2) teeth with a big toothbrush. He does have 4 teeth now, others coming in any day. 7.17 - mommy loves to buy fun things, like this bubble machine, but they don't always work as promised. 7.18 - Dinner with the boys after a stamp show (without the boys). I thought this one was cute of Alex walking to the car after dinner.7.19 - Alex taking a little break.

I hope you are having a great Wednesday! I will be able to share some fun stuff soon. Here is a little peek.
