{ Impression Obsession Summer Die Release Blog Hop }

Welcome to the Impression Obsession Summer Die Release Blog Hop!
We have some beautiful new dies to share AND a Gift Certificate to give away!
The Blog Hop will be posted on the Impression Obsession Blog at 6am EST Monday July 11th.
Here is my card.

Celebrate by Daniela Dobson

I used our brand new dies for this card. I started by stamping the oval wreath Oval – Flowery, that I colored with Prismacolor pencils. I die cut Patchwork Elements, flower and leaves, from carstock that I colored with ink. I sued 3D foam adhesive from Therm O Web for the flower and leaves. I tucked in an enamel dot that I created with Nuvo Crystal Drops – Dandelion Yellow from Tonic Studios, a new product to me and I got them from Emma’s Paperie. I tucked in a little twine under the flower.
“Celebrate”  is from Congrats Word Set  and I die cut it from Deco Foil White Foam Adhesive by Therm O Web. It has a liner on both sides. I love using the foam adhesive for these intricate die cuts because you can just adhere the word and you don’t have to mess with additional adhesive. Once it was down where I wanted it, I removed the top liner and added red Deco Foil.

{ May 2016 Memory Keepers Studio by Technique Tuesday }

Our May release of Memory Keepers Studio – Summer Adventures and Fresh Cut Studio – Summer  (shipping 5/15). Plus, check out all that is new and available for May. Here is what I created with the set.

I made a layout for our May color challenge at Emma’s Paperie that will be up on the blog soon. In addition, I used a sketch from Creative Scrappers.

Summer by Daniela Dobson

I downloaded free files from Jen Show called Life Printable Word Strips that I used on this layout. I stamped various words and sentences from the Summer Adventures stamp set. The large “summer” word I created from my handwriting and cut with my Silhouette Cameo. I added some Whipped Spackle to the background with a triangle mask and sprinkled some color shine.

Here is a card I created using the brand new Mom’s Day stamp set paired up with Happy Butterfly die. It can be used for many different occasions. I added some white gesso to the background and yellow paint. I stamped and cut out the sentiments adding them to the card using 3D Foam adhesive from Therm O Web.

{ March 2016 Memory Keepers Studio by Technique Tuesday }

Our March release of Memory Keepers Studio – Good Stuff and Fresh Cut StudioGreatest ships on 3/15. Plus, check out all that is new and available for March. Here is what I created with the set.

Today's adventure by Daniela Dobson

Yesterday, when I set down to create with this stamp set I knew that the photo from our outing that day would be perfect. We are on spring break and it’s been raining non stop. We went to IKEA to meet a friend and have lunch. When we got home I printed this photo and started with this layout. I went “shopping” in my stash. Some of these were my most recent purchases from Emma’s Paperie and some were older purchases from there (mostly Crate Paper rubo-ons and stickers). I used several of the bits and pieces from my Scraptastic Club kit, Elle’s Studio March kit (available on 3/10) and the newest, Little Moments collection (available on 3/10).

The stamps from the Good Stuff set I stamped on the little tags from Elle’s Studio, “adventure” and “snapshot” and the “today’s” banner on white cardstock with pink ink. In addition, I stamped arrows (in black) and the little flower border (in orange) directly on the layout. The polka dot patterned paper is toned down with white gesso.

There are lost of layers, but everything works so well together. It was a very quick and easy layout and I just love it.

Life story by Daniela Dobson

I created a background with a mask and inks that I got recently from Emma’s Paperie. On top of that I painted with a Ranger dauber paint and sprinkled some color shine. I stamped the sentiment from Today Tabs at the bottom of the card with black ink and stamped and cut the tabs with numbers by the butterfly. The butterfly die is from Happy Butterfly June Fresh Cut Studio.

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge – Friends Forever }

Hi and welcome to our  Impression Obsession challenge – Friends Forever.

I loved those little Spiral Roses from my last card that I had to make some more for this one. I love how white felt looks so soft.

Friends by Daniela Dobson

I started by stamping the Music Flag Banner at a slight angle at the top of the card. I added tag layers, washi and a cute arrow. I stamped the Pinwheel on white cardstock and colored with watercolor crayons. I added 3D Foam Squares from Therm O Web to add dimension.

Friends close by Daniela Dobson

{ January 2016 Memory Keepers Studio by Technique Tuesday }

Our January release of Memory Keepers Studio – Together Forever and Fresh Cut StudioHeart Strings is out and available. Here is what I created with the set.

My forever by Daniela Dobson

I added a strip of patterned paper at the bottom and then stamped hearts above that. I die cut the Notebook Card from patterned paper that I love. I just got it, it’s 6x6 paper pack from American Crafts.

The chipboard frame is from Crate Paper and I added a heart that I had in my stash from Heidi Swapp.  I die cut the “heart strings” and added them to the bottom. Lots of fun little elements in this stamp and die set.

{ Card Kit Monday–Tags and Branches–take 2 and a video }

Hello and happy Tuesday! As you can see, I have lots of Card Kit Mondays on a Tuesday. Yesterday was my catch up day. Alex was sick last week with a very high, asymptomatic fever. All the tests they could run at the office were negative. Luckily it went away after three full days. I don’t like it when he is sick, but I do like all our time together, snuggling, reading, watching TV and just hanging out. Who doesn’t. Everything else becomes less important.

I have to share some exciting news!! I was asked to join Scraptastic Kit Club! I will share my awesome kit that arrived yesterday and lots of projects that I make on my blog.

My card for today is full of layers and goodies. Watch the video. I am just so indecisive. I had no plan for the card at all.

Thinking of you by Daniela Dobson

Can you see all the layers? I just love playing around with all the stamps, mixed media, glitter, sequins and  mist. All the patterned papers are from Crate Paper that I got from Emma’s Paperie. Photo corners and all my adhesive is from Therm O Web. The stamps are from Impression Obsession.

Thinking of you close by Daniela Dobson

Once again, if you make something with the kit please share and let me know. I would love to see. You can download the kit HERE.

Here is the video or watch it on YouTube.

Let me know if you have any questions or ideas for a different card kit. Have a great day!

{ November Scrap Our Stash Challenge #32 Guest Designer }

I was asked to be be Guest Designer for November at Scrap Our Stash. I recently discovered their challenge blog and I love it.

The November Stash Challenge #32 is to create a layout and to include an item from your stash for each letter in the word A-L-B-U-M-S.

I had to challenge myself to get some of the items from “ALBUMS” on the page. I really had a hard time with “U” and umbrella kept coming up. I knew I had a photo of my son with his umbrella so I thought I would design one in my Silhouette Studio. The umbrella creation prompted me to make a cloud with some rain coming down.  I designed the page with a large letter “A” that is outlined with a Silhouette sketch pen and then cut out with the Cameo.

Play in the puddles by Daniela Dobson

I tried to use lots of little bits and pieces I have been holding on to. Like I said, I designed all the elements in my Silhouette Studio: cloud with rain, letter “A” and the umbrella.

Puddles close 2 by Daniela Dobson

I included a quote and used an old stash of sticker alphas. “When life gives you a rainy day, play in the puddles.”

Puddles close by Daniela Dobson

Here are all the challenge supplies I used on the layout:

A – letter A (for Alex)
L – lines on the paper background
B – buttons
U – umbrella
M – modeling paste (for the triangles)
S – stripes, stars, Silhouette, and stickers

Check out Scrap Our Stash Challenge blog for all the details and how play.

{ Paper Pumpkin Decoration }

I wanted to share a fun little project I created recently after I saw an adorable pumpkin that Gina created for American Crafts. I have been looking for Heidi Swapp Marquee Love Halloween Pumpkin at Michaels, but I never found one. I decided to make my own.

Paper pumpkin by Daniela Dobson

I designed the pumpkin in my Silhouette Studio and cut it out from patterned paper. I hade some Halloween paper and embellishments left over that I purchased at Emma’s Paperie last year. The “boo” and “happy Halloween” are die cuts from Impression Obsession called Boo and Happy Halloween. They are die cut from glitter paper. The little ghost is from Mini Ghosts die.
Elle’s Studio came out with Halloween Acrylics and Glitter Foam pieces that I added to the pumpkin. There is also a Halloween Digital Cut File and I was able to cut some bats from glitter paper.
Everything here is from my stash, some old and some new items. I already added it to my mantle. I am thinking about adding ribbon to the back and maybe hanging it in my dinning room.

Let me know if anyone is interested in the pumpkin silhouette file and I will share. Make sure you check out Gina’s beautiful pumpkin.

{ School inspired layout–Technique Tuesday }

I have a layout on Technique Tuesday blog today, along with some other DT members. The challenge was to use some kind of office/school supply on a layout or a card. Here is my layout and I used a tag, staples and paperclips.

Today  by Daniela Dobson

For the background stamping I used Big Timber Outline Lowercase and Big Timber Lowercase stamp sets. I added gesso to the patterned paper background to tone it down a bit and for the letters to stand out.

I inked the full stamp set while still on the sheet and used it as a stamping block. That particular set was still new, and the stamps in their original places. I used the matching stamp set to stamp over some of the letters.

It’s time for September release of Memory Keepers Studio- Random Thoughts and Fresh Cut Studio – Little Labels.  If you are not a member of Memory Keepers Studio come and see how you can sign up --->>> HERE.

Here is a layout I created.

Seriously by Daniela Dobson

I had fun with paint, stencil and modeling paste for the background. The paint is brand new and from Emma’s Paperie Yummy Yellow Happy Hue Acrylic Paint by Jillibean Soup. I die cut the tags from Little Labels and stamped the frames and sentiments from Random Thoughts stamp set. I layered them all on the bottom, under the photo. Seriously, look at that photo of Alex. This is what I get most of the time from him.

{ Card kit Monday }

Hello, happy Monday. I almost forgot to make a card for today, but I did, and I even have a video to go with it. After I cut my pieces it took me 12 minutes to make the card. I used the same kit from last week – Card kit Monday Banners.

Lucky by Daniela Dobson

I cut one large banner this time instead of several small ones. I cut two flowers, but enlarged one of them a little bit. All the other elements are the same, except I changed the size and orientation of the stripe and the scalloped piece.
The stamp is from the brand new August Memory Keepers Studio from Technique Tuesday. I will be sharing more projects with that set.

Once again, if you make something with the kit please share and let me know. I would love to see. You can download the kit HERE.

{ Card kit Monday }

Today I have a new Card Kit Monday for you. It’s Tuesday, I know, but I had another blog post yesterday and I thought I would post this today.

Here is the card I created with a brand new kit.

Thank you friend by Daniela Dobson

This time I created a banner with a flower and some strips of paper. I cut the base slightly smaller and cut an additional banner. All the papers here are from Crate Paper Confetti collection. I inked all the edges and used 3D foam adhesive from Therm O Web to pop up the banners. For the flower I cut two and layered them together and added a button.
The stamp is from the brand new August Memory Keepers Studio from Technique Tuesday. I will be sharing more projects with that set.

Thank you friend close 2 by Daniela Dobson

{ Stuck?!Sketches }

Hi! I loved the sketch that popped up in my Instagram feed from Stuck?!Sketches that I had to play along. I created the layout with the sketch and then found some other fun challenges from Scrapbook.com to incorporate into my layout.

Best day by Daniela Dobson

For this layout I used Impression Obsession stamps. You have seen me use them on cards, but I rarely used them on layouts. This one started with House Plans stamped with navy ink. Those large, cover-a-card stamps are 5.75 x 5.75. One of the twist in the stamping challenge was to use Architectural/Interior Elements. I used Whipped Spackle from Faber Castel and Prima mask for some embossing and before it was dry I sprinkles some super fine glitter.

Floor plan stamp by Daniela Dobson

For the Silhouette challenge I cut the big hand drawn circle. It’s one of my freebies that I enlarged and cut out from white cardstock. All the paper and embellishments are from Crate Paper that I got recently from Emma’s Paperie. I am in love with the collections. I just love how it turned out. The photo is from our Universal Studios Hollywood adventure. We are in line for the fifth time for Studio Tour. Yes, we went on the tour 5 times. It was a little different each time and we loved it.

{ June 2015 Memory Keepers Studio by Technique Tuesday }

It’s time for June release of Memory Keepers Studio- Oh Happy Day and Fresh Cut Studio – Happy Butterfly. This stamp set is shipping June 15. If you are not a member of Memory Keepers Studio come and see how you can sign up --->>> HERE.

Here is a card I created using the stamps and dies.

How beautiful is that butterfly? Love this set. I used a mixture of my favorite colors. I layered several different elements including Label - DIY Steel Die (which I use on pretty much everything) and Circles - DIY Steel Dies. The vellum backing on the butterfly I traced around the die and cut it out by hand.

Come check  out the new stamps and see what else is NEW for June.
