{ Technique Tuesday SCS Challenge and some exciting news }

I was asked to be a Technique Tuesday Stamping Tech and I am so excited!!! If you love Technique Tuesday stamps come and join us at the Splitcoaststampers forum (SCS) for fun challenges, tutorials and prizes. I will be posting my projects here and in the Splitcoast gallery.

Here is my first card for the Technique Tuesday challenge at the Splitcoaststampers forum. The challenge is  to make a card, tag or layout that uses  stamps designed exclusively for Technique Tuesday by Ali Edwards.

You have until October 5 to complete the challenge and upload it to the gallery on Splitcoaststampers. When you upload it, be sure to include TTSCS5 in the keywords section. You'll also want to include “Technique_Tuesday; techniquetuesday “ as keywords. Then, share a link to it here in this thread

I used Capture the Moment by Ali Edwards stamp that  I stamped twice and cut  out. I added a punched strip of paper, die cut tag and Prima flower so it looks like one long journaling strip. I used Pink Paislee patterned paper that I sprayed with glimmer mist.

The sentiment stamp is from Little Sentiments stamp set.

It's been a busy week here at our house. I have some fun photos to share and I will have more from out pumpkin patch visit tomorrow. Have a great weekend.

{ Magistical Memories September sketch challenge }

I found another sketch at Magistical Memories and I loved it!!! The rule is to use chipboard on your layout. I got the September kit from Studio Calico and I have used it up!!! I am down to just cardstock and embellishments. For this layout I used Back 40 kit and some left over embellishments and papers that were laying around on my desk.

I painted the chipboard shapes with Gesso because they were going to be yellow and I was using Gesso as a base color. I like the way they looked so I left them white.

I added Jenni Bowling butterflies, seam binding that I sprayed with Glimmer Mist, October Afternoon and K&Company card, American Crafts stickers, October Afternoon, Cosmo Cricket and MME patterned paper.

The beautiful doily is from Croatia...my mom had them and gave them to me. The adorable photos of Alex are from the Zoo while we were in Croatia.

Enjoy your Saturday. It's raining here...a great day to stay in and play!

{ My Mind's Eye blog challenge #15 }

I have been on this layout kick lately! I made 9 layouts in 9 days!!! Must be all the wonderful challenges at My Scrapbook Nook

I fell in love with this sketch from My Mind's Eye blog. I have decided to play along and use all my favorite papers that I have been saving.

Here is my take on the sketch. I mixed Lost & Found with Life Stories collection papers and added embellishments from So Sophie and Breaking Free collections. I cut the banner from patterned paper that I strung on twine and tied. I inked the edges and added machine stitching to the page.
The photos are of Alex playing with chalk. It was a really quiet moment as I watched him scribble on the ground. Soon after that he was up again, running around and chasing bubbles. I am so thankful for him and sweet moments like this.

This past weekend we went to a Balloon Festival in Plano. Alex  had a blast. We stayed until the very end and watched the fireworks. He was saying he wasn't tired as I was putting him to bed at 11:30 pm.

{ Stamping with Prima }

I wanted to share a card I made for Prima using one of our new Paintable stamps.  This one I use often, it's my favorite. I stamped it on cardstock with black ink and then I sprayed Glimmer Mist over the top. I had to add a little Glimmer Mist to the crepe paper ruffle on the bottom, too.

I sprayed the butterfly with Glimmer Mist and after it was dry I stamped Jack and Jill text clear stamp over the top. I added Love Letter Rose to the center. Those Roses are beautiful and they come in five different colors.

Sunlight Daisies Fairy Flora - 841768
Paintable clear stamp - 541828
Clear stamp - 542016
Lace - 541392
Vintage say it in Crystals-gray and blue - 540548
Love Letter Roses- rose quartz - 542757

It's Monday night TV and all the new shows are starting. House and Chuck are on tonight and I will have to miss Dancing with the Stars. I wish they would all come on a different night.
Enjoy your evening.

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge - Inchie Arts }

Hello and welcome to another Impression Obsession DT challenge. We have challenges every other week - DETAILS HERE - if you play you could win a $25 gift certificate to the Impression Obsession store.

This week we played with Inchies. They are so much fun. Did you know that they are available in 3 different sizes and 7 different colors!
Twinchie Squares, Inchie + Squares and Inchie Squares.

For my card I used Inchies from the Inchie Square assortment package. I stamped each Inchie Square with Cover-a-card Wood Grain (CC034). Then I stamped Sing Loudly (WP276) on the first two squares and the middle square. The last two were stamped with Believe Birds (WP277). I did add a touch of watercolor pencils to each image. I punched holes at the top and made a banner with Hemp cord.

The card background is stamped with Cover-a-card Splatter (CC059) and Glimmer Mist. The Journaling I note (WP165) is stamped over Cover-a-card Roses (CC043) that  I cut out.  I added October Afternoon and Sassafras Lass patterned paper and made the rose from crepe paper. The sentiment is from Mini Messages (MC176) stamp set.

I hope you'll take the time to visit the other designers' blogs for inspiration! Jeanne, Dina, KathyLaura, and Deborah.
