{ Impression Obsession Die Hop–Day 3 }

Hi and welcome to our die hop day 3.

Impression Obsession has so many NEW DIES in the store you have to check them out. Our Design Team will share their projects for the next three days. Hope you find some favorites because there will be a winner each day.

Here is my card.

Merry wishes by Daniela Dobson

I went pretty simple today and I hope you like it. My background is Kraft paper that I painted (loosely) with chalkboard paint. I bought a bottle earlier this year when I was making name tags for Alex’s birthday. Here are the supplies I used in addition to the dies and stamps.

I die cut the Bare Christmas Tree from blue cardstock. There are two there, not sure if you can see. The bottom one is dark blue and the top is light blue. It gave the tree more dimension. I die cut the stars from gold metallic paper. Don’t ask me where I got it, but as I was working I thought how the stars would be so pretty in shiny gold paper. Then I remembered I had some. I have silver too!!!

You can hardly tell in this photo, but I added 3D paint to the tree and sprinkled them with glitter. The tiny gold stars and bow are adhered with Zots for Bling from Therm O Web, perfect size. I used my white gel pen to add “stars” to the chalk background background.

The sentiment, from Christmas Trees, is stamped with white ink and since it was still wet when I sprinkled the glitter, it has glitter as well. I smeared the actual chalk on the background to make it look like a real chalkboard.

I hope you enjoyed our blog hop and my creations.

{ Impression Obsession Die Hop–Day 2 }

Hi and welcome to our die hop day 2.

Impression Obsession has so many NEW DIES in the store you have to check them out. Our Design Team will share their projects for the next three days. Hope you find some favorites because there will be a winner each day.

Here is my project.

Halloween treat bag 1 by Daniela Dobson

I used a treat box that I filled with popcorn and candy corns and tied ribbon at the top. I die cut the Pumpkin and the face. The pumpkin die comes with four different faces.

I die cut the Spider Web and added it to the decorative straw. I added several spiders to the  ribbon. I accented them with orange jewels.

Here is a close up of the pumpkin. I just love it. The sentiment is from Tangled Web stamp set.

{ Impression Obsession Die Hop–Day 1 }

Hi and welcome to our blog hop. Impression Obsession has so many NEW DIES in the store you have to check them out. Our Design Team will share their projects for the next three days. Hope you find some favorites because there will be a winner each day.

Here is my card.

Happy holidays by Daniela Dobson

I used Fir Trees for my card. First I cut them out of vellum that I embossed. I didn’t like the way that looked so I found this glitter felt. I left the vellum trees on the bottom and layered the felt ones over the top. You can see it in the close up photo.

The black label is a chalk sticker from Fancy Pants and I love it. It actually feels like vinyl. I added twine and a little holiday tag I had from Basic Grey. The flair is from {A Flair For Buttons} and I added it to the tag so it looks like an ornament.

The sentiment from Life Stuff Sentiments is stamped on Banners & Tails Die. The dies are made for those sentiments. There is another set called, Warm Fuzzies Sentiments that I love, too.

{ September Studio AE }

It is September! Alex started Kindergarten this week and it was hard, for both of us.

September 2013 Studio AE is called Daily Photo.

This layout is the first creation I made since July.

I received several packages of goodies while I was gone and I couldn’t wait to work with all the NEW products that were released at Summer CHA. Anything I order from Emma’s Paperie arrives super fast! I love that.

Chalk board products are very popular right now. Fancy Pants has these great Chalk stickers. I cut one in half and tucked it under My Mind’s Eye die cut journal card. I repeated that chalk look by using black ink and stamping the the two images on white cardstock.

I even found a heart flair from {A Flair For Buttons} to match the look of chalk. These photos are from our fun Summer Adventures at the Fair Park here in Dallas. It was a fun day filled with lots of rides.

This is what the stamp set looks like. Definitively something I can use every day for all my projects.

I hope to catch up this week with all the projects I created before I left on the trip that were shared on Therm O Web blog, Emma’s Paperie blog, and Technique Tuesday blog.

I have to share a photo of Alex from this week.

There is no school tomorrow since it’s Labor Day. Have a great one!

{ Free Cut Friday and a catch up post }

I know today is Saturday, but my plan for yesterday did not work out.

We got back from our family trip to Croatia on Wednesday. Alex starts Kindergarten on Monday, and he got to meet his teacher Thursday night. There will be lots of crying Monday morning.

The supplies I took with me to scrapbook, on the plane, and while there, did not happen. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, I posted this photo. I didn’t touch a single item while I was there. There was not enough time. We stayed up late and slept in. Our days were filled with visiting family, eating, and drinking. Alex played with his 6 cousins.

I did use my Instax. It was definitively trial and error, just like I read. Most of the photos turned out great, others did not. They were dark or overexposed, and you do not take close ups with the Instax.

Now, for the Free Cut Friday. I created these two cards and they are up on The Scrap Review blog for download or you can download the file by clicking on the photo. These are perfect for project life pockets.

My back to school project I created for Therm O Web uses another Silhouette cut file I created in Silhouette Studio. You can find a step by step tutorial with photos on Therm O Web blog. I used a perfect stamp set called I Love School by Ali Edwards from Technique Tuesday. The stars and the banner are from Seal Companion – Star by Technique Tuesday.
